TO THE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
The purpose of this Informal Report is to provide information on the requested Extraterritorial
Jurisdiction (ETJ) releases received, reviewed, and subsequently released during the period of
February to June 2026. The details are shown on the following maps and tables on pages 2
through 10.
Since the enactment of Subchapter D, Chapter 42, Texas Local Government Code on September
1, 2023, the City has received a total of 222 petitions. A 12-month graph on page 11 reflects the
number of eligible petitions released from July 2025 through June 2026. Thirty-seven (37)
petitions received prior to July 1, 2026, were either deemed incomplete, ineligible or withdrawn.
From September 2023 to date, a total of 187 eligible ETJ petitions have released approximately
5,760.05 acres within the City’s ETJ.
