DISCUSSION The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to appropriate funds in the amount of $94,000.00, to be received from the developer as a deposit of Public Improvement District (PID) No. 16, Walsh Ranch/Quail Valley to cover the City's expected expenses associated with administration of the special assessments on Improvement Area No. 4. On May 12, 2026, the City Council adopted an Ordinance levying special assessments on Improvement Area No. 4 (Ordinance No. 28524-05-2026). Because Improvement Area No. 4 was recently levied, no assessment revenue has yet been billed or collected for that area in Fiscal Year (FY) 2026; this deposit is funded directly by the developer, not by assessment proceeds. Beginning in FY2027, PID No. 16 will be funded through the normal assessment collection process. This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. FISCAL IN FORMATION/CERTIFICATION The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be deposited into the Walsh 1 of 2 FORT WORTH Ranch PID Custodial Fund as appropriated. The FWLab Department (and Financial Management Services) is responsible for the collection and deposit of funds due to the City. Prior to an expense being incurred, the FWLab Department also has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.
