The work to be performed under this contract consists of replacing known lead or galvanized pipe residential water service lines. This contract is necessary due to federal regulations issued to maintain quality water service efforts for lead service line replacements on private property. Final payments will be made based on actual measured quantities. This contract may be renewed (subject to appropriated funding) one time under the same terms, conditions and unit prices. The contract will be funded with previously appropriated funds that are being transferred by this M&C to the Lead Service Line Replacement Residential programmable project (City Project No. P00156). Once this M&C has been approved $1,000,000.00 will be transferred back to the Lead Service Line Replacement Residential project (City Project No. 106471). The project was advertised for bid on April 29, 2026 and May 6, 2026 in the Fort Worth Star - Telegram and on June 4, 2026, the following bids were received: Bidder Amount Time of Completion Tejas Commercial $2,329,620.00 365 Calendar Days Construction, LLC Staff have reviewed the proposed unit prices and considers them to be fair and reasonable. Construction is expected to start September 2026 and be completed by September 2027 or when the contract amount is exhausted, whichever occurs last. It is the practice of the Water Department to appropriate its Capital Improvement Program (CIP) plan throughout the Fiscal Year (FY), instead of within the annual budget ordinance, as 2 of 4 FORT WORTH,U projects commence, additional funding needs are identified, and to comply with bond covenants.
