SUBJECT: (ALL) Authorize Execution of an Amendment to Mayor and Council Communication 25-
0336 to Add an Additional Vendor, Rush Truck Centers of Texas, LP, an Authorized
Dealer for Ford Motor Company dba Ford Pro Using Sourcewell Cooperative Agreement
080124 -FMC for Ford Automotive Parts, Services, and Supplies for the Property
Management Department
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the execution of an amendment to Mayor and
Council Communication 25-0336 to add an additional vendor, Rush Truck Centers of Texas, LP, an
authorized dealer for Ford Motor Company dba Ford Pro using Sourcewell Cooperative Agreement
080124 -FMC for automotive parts, services, and supplies for the Property Management Department.
DISCUSSION:
On April 22, 2025, City Council authorized execution of Mayor and Council Communication (M&C)
25-0336 for Ford automotive parts, services, and supplies using Sourcewell Cooperative Agreement
080124 -FMC for the Property Management Department (PMD). The City utilizes this agreement to
service and repair Ford vehicles in the City's fleet.
The Purchasing Division was approached by PMD to amend M&C 25-0336 to include Rush Truck
Centers of Texas, LP, as an additional vendor to the original authorization in order to keep up with
demand of Ford automotive parts, services, and supplies. The additional vendor is required due to the
increase of Ford vehicles to the City's fleet. This will help ensure the City maintains consistent access
to necessary parts and avoid delays in vehicle maintenance or repairs.
All agreement terms remain consistent with the authorization given under M&C 25-0336.
FUNDING: The addition of this vendor will not increase or affect the original purchase agreement
amount of up to $300,000.00 authorized in M&C 25-0336. However, the actual amount used will be
based on the need of the departments and the available budget. Funding is budgeted in the Fleet
Service Outside Repair & Maintenance account within the Fleet & Equipment Sery Fund for PMD.
A 1295 form is not required for Rush Truck Centers of Texas, LP because it is a wholly owned
subsidiary of a public company, Rush Enterprises, Inc.
This project will serve ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS.
FISCAL IN FORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that approval of this recommendation will have no material effect on
City funds.
