With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos E. Flores called the
City Council Work Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order at 1:00 pm on September 1,
2026 in the City Work Session Room of the Fort Worth City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trail, Fort Worth,
Texas.

Jay Chapa, City Manager, called on D. J. Harrell, Director of Development Services, to
recognize Rachel Parrish for receiving 'Code Professional of the Year' at the Building
Officials Association of Texas (BOAT) Awards.

4 CITY COUNCIL REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS AND/OR REPORTS
• Council Member Deborah Peoples requested a presentation regarding the new Corporal
positions in Police including any staffing projections and where the positions will be
assigned and the hiring process to fill the positions.
• Council Member Chris Nettles requested an update on appointments made by Chief
Garcia since his start date.
• Council Member Chris Nettles requested a presentation regarding a comparison with peer
cities on which bargaining units are used during police negotiations compared to Fort
Worth.
5 ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos E. Flores adjourned the meeting at 1:16
pm.
