ENDORSING COUNCILMEMBER DEBORAH PEOPLES TO
SERVE ON THE ADVOCACY COMMITTEE FOR THE BOARD
OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities is an advocacy group representing thousands of
cities, towns, and villages from across the country; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Deborah Peoples has expressed interest in serving on the
Advocacy Committee for the Board of the National League of Cities;
WHEREAS, in order to be considered to serve on a Committee to the Board of the
National League of Cities, Ms. Peoples must be endorsed by the City of Fort Worth
Council and the Texas Municipal League; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that Councilmember Deborah Peoples would be an
excellent member of the Advocacy Committee for the Board Member for the National
League of Cities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS THAT:
1. The City Council of the City of Fort Worth endorses Deborah Peoples to serve on
the Advocacy Committee for the Board of the National League of Cities; and
2. This resolution shall be effective from and after its passage by the City Council.
