Home My WebLink About060496-A1 - Construction-Related - Contract - Binkley & Barfield, Inc.CSC No. 60496 -Al AMENDMENT No.1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 60496 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Binkley & Barfield, Inc (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 60496, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C 23-0887 on the 17th day of October, 2023 in the amount of $473,957.00; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacement Contract 2022, WSM-S, CPN 104672; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1. Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in proposal attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $49,812.00. (Water: $12,378.00; Sewer: $37,434.00) 2. Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $523,769.00. 3. It has been determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Fort Worth to relocate two existing sanitary sewer lines from the back of the residential lots to the existing street right-of-way located on the front side of the residential lots. The existing sanitary sewer lines are not located in existing right-of-way or existing easements. Replacement of the existing sanitary sewer lines (in the current location) would conflict with existing garages, car ports, sheds, trees, fence lines, retaining walls and landscaping structures. Relocation of the sanitary sewer lines to the street right-of-way would avoid these construction conflicts. The new sanitary sewer lines will be constructed on N. Sylvania Avenue, Ivy Street, Hollis Street and Grace Avenue. The existing sanitary sewer lines between N. Sylvania Avenue/Grace Avenue and between Grace Avenue/Blandin Street will be abandoned. Existing residential service lines for all homes will be rerouted to flow from the home to the new sanitary sewer line. The original residential service lines will also be abandoned. Since there is an existing 18" sanitary sewer line in Blandin Street, a new sanitary sewer line will not be constructed. However, new residential service lines will be constructed for those homes adjacent to west side of Blandin Street. The original contract for this project was executed on 11/17/2026 in the amount of $473,957.00. This Amendment request will increase the contact amount by $49,812.00 for a new contract total of $523,769.00.
