RESOLUTION 26-6403
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS, SETTING THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETINGS FOR
JANUARY 2027 THROUGH DECEMBER 2027
WHEREAS, Chapter III, Section 5 of the Fort Worth City Charter requires the City
Council to meet at such times and places as may be prescribed by ordinance or resolution
and that not less than forty-four (44) regular and special meetings be held each calendar
year; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 3.2 of the City Council Rules of Procedure,
unless otherwise officially changed by the City Council, the Council shall meet in the City
Council Work Session Room and Council Chamber respectively at the City Hall on
Tuesday of each week at times set by the City Council by Resolution in order to be
briefed on matters of interest to the city and conduct other city business; and
WHEREAS, special events and occasions periodically get scheduled throughout
the year at times that conflict with the Council's regular meeting times, and City Council
finds it advisable to provide flexibility to adjust start times or location, as needed, without
further City Council action, provided that agendas for meetings with alternate start times
are properly noticed in accordance with state law; and
WHEREAS, adoption of this resolution serves as official action by the City
Council in accordance with the City Charter setting the regular meetings of the City Council
for January 2027 through December 2027.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
1. The City Council will hold City Council Work Sessions and Executive Sessions
during the calendar year of 2027 as follows:
January 5 and 26, 2027
February 2 and 23, 2027
March 2 and 23, 2027
April 6 and 27, 2027
May 4 and 25, 2027
June 8 and 29, 2027
August 3 and 24, 2027
September 14 and 28, 2027
October 12 and 26, 2027
November 2 and 16, 2027
December 7, 2027
City Council Work Sessions shall generally start at 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. but may start
at such other time as reflected in the posted agenda for such meeting, which agenda shall be
published in advance in accordance with state law. Executive Session shall generally begin
at noon on the days with a Work Session scheduled, but the start time for any Executive
Session will be such time as is reflected in the posted agenda for the meeting, which agenda
shall be published in advance in accordance with state law. Additional Work Session and/or
Executive Session meetings will be scheduled during the year as needed — either by resolution
or by call.
2. The City Council will hold evening City Council Meetings during the calendar year
2027 as follows:
January 12, 2027
February 9, 2027
March 9, 2027
April 13, 2027
May 18, 2027
June 15, 2027
August 10, 2027
September 21, 2027
October 19, 2027
November 9, 2027
December 14, 2027
City Council Meetings on such dates shall generally start at 6:00 p.m. but may start
at such other time as reflected in the posted agenda for such meeting, which agenda
shall be published in advance in accordance with state law. Each evening City
Council Meeting shall include a Public Comment portion where persons may address the
City Council about any matter related to City business or affairs that is in the scope of the
authority and legislative functions of the City Council, provided speakers register in advance
as required by the Council Rules of Procedure.
3. The City Council will hold day City Council Meetings during the calendar year 2027
as follows:
January 26, 2027
February 23, 2027
March 23, 2027
April 27, 2027
May 25, 2027
June 29, 2027
August 24, 2027
September 28, 2027
October 26, 2027
November 16, 2027
December 7, 2027
City Council Meetings on such dates shall generally start at 1:00 p.m. but may start at
such other time as reflected in the posted agenda for such meeting, which agenda
shall be published in advance in accordance with state law. Each daytime City
Council Meeting shall include a Public Comment portion where persons may address the City
Council about any matter related to City business or affairs that is in the scope of the authority
and legislative functions of the City Council, provided speakers register in advance as
required by the Council Rules of Procedure.
4. The City Council will hold Budget Work Sessions during the calendar year 2027 as follows:
April 20, 2027
May4and 11, 2027
June 8 and 29, 2027
August 3, 17 and 31, 2027
Budget Work Session Meetings on such dates will begin at the start time reflected in the
posted agenda for each such meeting, which agenda shall be published in advance in
accordance with state law.
5. The City Council will hold specialized meetings during the calendar year 2027 as follows:
January 5, 2027 Data Center Moratorium Public Hearing and First Reading
May 11, 2027 Canvass of Regular City Council Election
June 8-29, 2027 Canvass of City Council Runoff Election (if needed)
June 8-29, 2027 Joint Meeting with Board of Fort Worth Employees
Retirement Fund
The above -listed meeting will begin at the start time on the date reflected in the posted
agenda for each such meeting, which agenda shall be published in advance in accordance
with state law.
6. A calendar indicating the above dates and times is attached to this Resolution as
Exhibit A.
7. City Council Work Sessions, Executive Sessions, and City Council Meetings shall
generally be held at City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trail, but may take place at another location as
reflected in the posted agenda for such meeting, provided that such location must
comply with state law and the agenda for such meeting shall be published in advance in
accordance with state law.
