DISCUSSION: The engineering services to be performed under thss agreement consist of preparing plans and specifications for the replacement of approximately 6,300 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains. This project is part of the City's Integrated Wet Weather Wastewater Management Program to comply with an administrative order from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to eliminate sewer overflows from the City's wastewater collection system. The project is generally bound on the north by Spurgeon Street, on the south by Southwest Loop 820, on the east by 6th Avenue and on the west by West Cockrell. TranSystems Corporation proposes to perform the design work for the project for a lump sum fee of $98,160.00. Staff considers this fee to be fair and reasonable for the scope of services proposed. TranSystems Corporation is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 18% M/VVBE participation. The City's goal on this project is 17%. The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3, 6 and 9, Mapsco 90K, P, S and U. In addition to the contract amount, $5,000.00 is required for project management by the Department of Engineering.
