MEMORANDUM
TO:A. Douglas Rademaker, Director DOE and
Mike Groomer, Assistant City Manager
FROM:Tony Sholola
date:March 31, 1999
RE:DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO SANITARY SEWER MAIN 42
AND 54 DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SYSTEM REHABILITATION
AND IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 4, CONTRACT 1), PART 5. DOE NO.
1435, SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410180
The proposed amendment will reimburse Carter & Burgess, Inc., for the additional design serv
ices that were provided on the project as requested by City.
The plans for this project were approved and ready for advertisement in April 1998. However,
the project could not be advertised for bids without a railroad permit which was finally obtained
in February 1999. Prior to advertising the project for bids, it is necessary to revise the previously
approved plans and specifications so that they conform with cunent city standards.
Carter & Burgess, Inc., has requested a fee of $4,490.00 for the additional services to be pro
vided thereby increasing the contract fee from $196,910.00 to $201,400.00. I believe this fee is
fair and reasonable for the additional services to be provided.
Please authorize the additional design fee by your signatures on the attached contract amendment
form.
