ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT BERCVV|TA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there abui| also he increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
6eorxo| Fund in the amount of$39,000.00` subject to recei p t of umvo�t ocy g/fb-onx the Friends of the Fort
Worth Nature Center and Refuge, Inc., for the purpose offundingthe uo|urieo and benefits for six part-time
City staft'positions at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge during Fiscal Year 2014.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part ofu section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or
void for any reason by o court ofoompetent |uriodiobou, such decision, opinion or judgmxnt shall in no way
impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining
provisions shall be and remain iu full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance oho\] be oomu|u\ive of Ordinance No. 20952'09-2013 and all o1bc, ordinances arid
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and oppropriatioos, in vvhiob instance said conflicting provisions
of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Authorize Acceptance of a Monetary Gift from the Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge,
Inc., in the Amount of$33,000.00 to Fund Part-Time Staff Positions at the Fort Worth Nature Center &
Refuge for Fiscal Year 2014 and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance (COUNCIL DISTRICT 7)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize acceptance of a monetary gift in the amount of$33,000.00 from the Friends of the Fort
Worth Nature Center and Refuge, Inc., for the purpose of funding salaries and benefits for Fiscal
Year 2014 for part-time staff positions at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge; and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
General Fund by $33,000.00, subject to receipt of the gift from the Friends of the Fort Worth Nature
Center and Refuge, Inc.
DISCUSSION:
The Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge, Inc. (Friends), is a non-profit organization
formed in 1974 to support the operation of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge (FWNC&R) through
financial and in-kind contributions.
The Friends wish to donate $33,000.00 generated through membership dues and various fundraising
efforts to the Parks and Community Services Department for the purpose of paying the salaries and
benefits for six part-time Staff positions during Fiscal Year 2014. The six positions will provide
professional, clerical and internship support for the the FWNC&R's education, community outreach and
natural resource management programs.
The acceptance of this donation was endorsed by the Parks and Community Services Advisory Board on
September 25, 2013.
The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7 and serves ALL COUNCIL
DISTRICTS.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations
and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating
budget, as appropriated, of the General Fund and the Parks and Community Services Department is
responsible for the collection and deposit of funds donated to the City.
