NOTICE OF SPECIAL SESSION
(Pre-Council Chamber)
Tuesday, March 08, 2005
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Fort Worth will hold a special meeting in
the Pre-Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton Street, Fort Worth, Texas,
on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 to consider the items on the agenda listed below. The special meeting
will be held immediately after the Pre-Council meeting that begins at 3:00 P.M. in the Pre-Council
Chamber at City Hall and before the regular City Council meeting that begins at 7:00 P.M. in the
Council Chamber at City Hall.
I. CALL TO ORDER
II. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The City Council will conduct a closed meeting in order to:
1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated
litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9
of the Texas State Bar Rules and as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government
Code:
a. Jack Secrest v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and Yataska Jefferson Cause No.
153-200623-03;
b. Jason Barden v. City of Fort Worth and Allan Shepard Cause No. 342-207110-04;
c. Supertow v. City of Fort Worth and DOES 1-30, Civil Action 4:04-CV-670-Y;
d. Legal issues concerning EEOC/TCHR claims of: Angela Hopper, Barbara Noyes,
Donald Weiler, Dawn Ahrend, Lisa A. Chick, Nikki M. Marler, Kathryn J. Wood (Reese),
Johnny Cummings;
e. Legal issues concerning municipal utility districts and other special districts;
f. Legal issues concerning the Employees' Retirement Fund of the City of Fort Worth;
g. Legal issues concerning rates imposed by TXU Electric Delivery Company;
h. Legal issues concerning the development of a convention center hotel;
i. Legal issues concerning any item listed on today's City Council meeting agendas; and
2. Deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property in accordance with Section
551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental
effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and
3. Deliberate economic development negotiations as authorized by Section 551.087 of the Texas
Government Code; and
4. Deliberate the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or
devices, in accordance with Section 551.076 of the Texas Government Code.
