AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER COMMERCIAL PAPER FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,246,384.00 AND 1N THE SEWER COMMERCIAL PAPER FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,246,384.00 FOR THE PURPOSE, OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH CORONADO BUILDERS, INC., FOR CENTRALIZED WATER/ WASTEWATER LABORATORY AT THE ROLLING HILLS WATER TREATMENT PLANT; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR.ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; .AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE .DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE, CITY OF FORT WORTH; TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and 'in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Commercial Paper Fund in the amount of $1,246,384.00 and in the Sewer commercial Paper. Fund in the amount of $1,246,384.00 for the purpose of funding a contract with Coronado Builders, Inc., for centralized water/wastewater laboratory at the Rolling Hills Water Treatment Plant. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 11645 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage; and it is so ordained. TREATMENT PLANT An additional $10,000.00 will be required for engineering coordination and inspection during construction. The contingency for possible change orders is $73,86$.00. The engineer's estimate was $2,900,000.00. The following list is the basis for the Total Amount for Award of Contract: Base Bid Building $2,329,900.00 Alternative #3 Office Furniture $16,000.00 Alternative #4 System Furniture 522,000.00 Alternative #5 Lightning Protection $11,000.00 Alternative #8 Landscaping/Sprinkler System 519,000.00 Alternative #9 Fluid Applied Flooring System 57,000.00 Alternative #12 Protective/Crash Rail along Walls 53,000.00 Unit Price Trench Safety 51,000.00 Total Amount for Award of Contract 52,408,900.00 The architectural upgrade alternatives #6 (Decorative Ceiling Upgrade), #7 (Glass Block), #10 (Quarry Tile), #11 (Water Dept. Logo), #13 (East Brick Tower), #14 (West Brick Tower) and #15 Environmental Chamber have been deducted for a cost savings of 581,500.00. Additionally, alternatives #1 (Laboratory Equipment), #2A (Laboratory Casework: MaxL.ab), and #2C (Additional Laboratory Casework: MaxLab) were not included in the contract for a cost savings of 5890,000.00. A separate contract will be issued at a later date for these items in order to reduce the total cost. Coronado Builders, Inc., is in compliance with the City's DBE Policy by committing to 14.31 DBE participation based on the total award of the contract.
