The City of Fort Worth, by and through its Police Department
This Memorandum of Understanding U between ACH child and Family Services
(ACH) and the City of Fort Worth, by and through its Police Department F P w, outlines a
collaborative effort to address the homelessness of runaway and homeless youth (R.HY)/young
adults a
,ges, 1 22 in Tarrant County, Texas, demonstrating,, at a rninimurn, a. close collaboration
between FWPD and ACS:. Thus, the parties to this memorandum of understanding agree to do
the following:
1. Work together to combat the issue of homelessness of REY/young adults, in Tarrant
County via H's Y programs.
2. Mutually establish appropriate protocol which F WPD can follow in referring RHY/young
adults to ACE for services or bringing those individuals onsite for services; and
3. Enhance collaborative efforts between FW'PD and AC 's REY programs that leverage
limited resources to strengthens but not duplicate existing efforts. In furthering these
efforts, the parties to this MOU agree as follows*

• FWP will endeavor to identify and refer RHY/yOUng adults to ACH for
comprehensive shelter and/or outreach services in ACH's .l .Y Programs, this may
include R Y/young adults' voluntary transportation by FWPD1 to AC 's facilities.
• FWP , through F P" ''s Homelessness Liaison and/car other officers, agrees to act as a
direct referral source for ACH's REY programs along with various homeless service
providers, schools, other appropriate social service agencies'. etc.
• ACH will endeavor to serve REY/young adults brought ght y or referred by P PD for
comprehensive shelter and/or outreach services or referrals for services by CH's REY
programs, including but not, limited to: immediate, safe shelter, food, clothing and
hygiene items, ease management, counseling, educational/vocation assessment,, onsite.
public school education opportunities during the sehooll year, life shills education and
experience, and community activities.
• The aforementioned referrals and services will be at no cost to the City of Fort Worth
but funded by, and through the Administration of Children, and Families and AC H.
Therefore, signatories agree to work cooperatively to join efforts in meeting the
immediate needs of runaway and horneless youth and young adults.

MODIFICATION, This MOU may be modified upon the mutual written coInsent of both
Parties.
