HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6047 ORDINANCE NO. __/j2j:2j�j AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THIRTY-SECOND STREET BE- TWEEN THE EAST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF NORTH CALHOUN STREET AND THE WEST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF THE G.C.& S.F. RAILROAD, NORTH CALHOUN AND NORTH JONES STREETS BETWEEN THE SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF THIRTY-SECOND STREET AND THE NORTH LINE OF THE HARRY STRAW, JR., TRACT AS RECORDED IN VOL. 1445, PAGE 388, OF THE DEED RECORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AND THE NORTH- SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 83, FOSTEPCO HEIGHTS ADDITION, BETWEEN THE SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF THIRTY-SECOND STREET AND THE NORTH LINE OF THE HARRY STRAW, JR., TRACT AS RECORDED IN SAID VOL. 1445, PAGE 388, DEED RECORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABAN- DONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; RE- PEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PRO- VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Thirty-second Street between the east right of way line of North Calhoun Street and the west right of way line of the G.C.&S.F. Railroad and North Calhoun and North Jones Streets between the south right of way line of Thirty-second Street and the north line of the Harry Straw, Jr., Tract as recorded in Vol. 1445, page 388, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same are hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as streets or public thoroughfares of any kind or character whatever. That the north-south alley in Block 83, Fostepco Heights Addition, between the south right of way line of Thirty-second Street and the north line of the Harry Straw, Jr. , Tract as recorded in Vol. 1445, page 388, of the Deed Records of Tar- rant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an alley or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said streets and alley is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as pro- vided by law, save and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing and future utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. Railroad; North Calhoun and North Jones Streets between: the south right-of-way line of Thirty Second Street and the 'north line of the Harry Straw, Jr. Tract as recorded in Vol, 1445, Page 388, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas; and, the north-south alley in Block, 83, Fostepco Heights between the south right-of-way line of Thirty Second Street and the north line of the above cited Harry Straw, Jr. Tract'. The subject rights-of-way were acquired by dedication, and are not open, paved or guttered. This request is made to permit the vacated rights-of-way to be incorporated into adjoining land owned by the applicant. The City Departments and Private Utility Companies have reviewed this request and have no objection to the vacations. The City Plan Commission has reviewed the proposed vacation and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the rights-of--way, subject to the applicant's platting the vacated rights-of-way with adjoining properties and retaining the vacated rights-of'-way as easements for existing and future utilities. A. plat which includes the vacated rights-of-way has been filed with the Planning; Department. Recommendation- It is recommended that City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the rights-of- way as recommended by the City Plan Commission..
