AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
ANALLEY, SITUATED IN LOTS I THROUGH 21, BLOCK 21, M.G.
ELLIS ADDITION, AN ADDITION TOT CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS,AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 63, PAGE 19
OF THE PLAT REC''ORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS;
PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; THE
RETAINMENT OF EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That a portion. of an alley, situated Lots I through. 21, Block 21 M.G. Ellis Additioti, an
addition to the City of Fort earth, ,Tarrant Coujity, Texas as recorded in Volume 63, :Page 19 of
the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and containing respectively approximately 11,920
square feet of land more or less, and as more specifically described in Exhibits "'A." and "B"
attached hereto and incorporated. herein by reference be and the same is vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands in the above-described vacated alleys and streets are hereby
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located in the easements are relocated at the owner's expense.

SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

SUBJECT:
Adopt Ordinance Vacating an Alley Between 26th Street and 25th Street in the Historic Stockyards to be
Replatted with the Adjoining Property Owned by Exhibits Building Partnership fora New Hotel and Parking
Garage (COUNCIL DISTRICT 2)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1, Adopt the attached ordinance vacating an alley between 26th Street and 25th Street in the istoric
Stockyards to be replatted with the adjoining property owned by Exhibits Building Partnership for a new
hotel and parking garage; and
2. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City Policy.
DISCUSSION;
Barron, Stark and Swift Consulting Engineers, on behalf of Exhibits Building Partnership, has requested
the vacation of this alley right-of-way to replat it ith the adjoining property for a proposed hotel and
parking garage. The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting on
February 26, 2014. An acceptable final plat (FS-,014-014) has been received in accordance with
Subdivision Ordinance.
The City of Fort Worth (City) originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting
process. The City does not own any fee interest in the right-of-way or own any property adjacent to the
right-of-way and did not expend any City funds to purchase the right:-of-way easements„ In accordance
with the City's Policy Regarding Street and Alley Vacation Transactions approved by the City Council on
March 6, 2007 (M&C -156 )N Staff recommends waiving the fir market value or any portion thereof of
purchase price of the right-of-way easements for the streets and alley..
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2, Mapsco 6
