DATE REFERENCE SUBJECT: Recommended Annexation of Area PAGE
10/2/72 NUMBER Between Fort Worth and Crowley lot 1
PZ-521
The City Plan Commission, at its 'regular meeting~August 30, 1972, recommended
the annexation of approximately 3,11 square miles located west of the South
Freeway and east of Crowley.
The recommended area is bounded by the present city limit line on the north
(2500 feet south from Sycamore School Road), by the present city limit line
on the ~>ast (west line of Katy Railroad) by the common Burleson-Fort Worth
boundary line (McA.llister Road) on the south and by the common Crowley-Fort
Worth boundary line and Crowley Road on the west. (Boundary conflicts with
Crowley were eliminated by the Crawley-Fort Worth Mutual Common Boundary
Line Agreement, M&C PZ-466, October 11, 1971).
Development in the area has progressed to the point where Fort Worth services
and facilities are needed. One industrial plant which is in operation has
under construction a major building expansion, and has initiated a request
for water and sanitary sewer service. Water and sewer can be provided
under standard community facility policies. All other city services can
be provided without undue problems. The Plan Commission finds that the
annexation of this area is consistent with the Council's "Policy for Review
of Annexation and Deannexation Requests."
This is Area Igo. 4 in the Plan Commission's 1972 Annexation Study Program.
Areas 1, 2 and 3 have been recommended to the Council for annexation.
Areas 5, 6, 7, and 8 are under study.
An "Annexation Timetable" and a map showing the area are attached. If
Council begins the proceedings on October 2 t1_ze annexation can be completed
on December 4, 1972.
Recommendation
It is recommended that a public hearing on the recommended annexations be set
for October 16 and publication of the necessary notice of hearing be authorized,
