AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2784, BEING AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN EMERGENCY BOARD, BY REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2868, AND BY AMENDING SECTION 2 THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 0W THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That Ordinance No. 2868, amending Ordinance No. 2784, is repealed. SECTION 2 That Ordinance No. 2784 be amended by amending Section 2 of said ordinance, and after Section 2 is so amended, it shall read as follows: Section 2 Pursuant to the Charter of the City of Fort Worth and the laws and Constitution of the State of Texas, there is hereby created, as a separate department of the City of Fort Worth, what shall be known as an Emergency Board. This board shall be composed of fourteen (14) members, four (4) of whom shall be selected from among; the citizens of the City who have demonstrated their interest and ability in solving major problems of vital concern to the public requiring immediate and timely action. The said four (4) members shall be nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, and the remaining ten (10) members shall be the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Fort Worth, the County Judge of Tarrant County, the Chairman of the Tarrant County Chapter of the Red Cross, the Mayor of the City of Fort Worth, the General Manager of Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft Corporation, the Commanding Officer, of the Texas State Guard, the Executive Secretary of the Associated General Contractors, a representative of the Trustees of the Fort Worth Independent School District, a representative of the Tarrant County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1, and the City Manager of the City of Fort Worth, who shall be Chairman of the board. SECTION 3 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
