AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEX-
ING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED
IN A DAILY NENSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORD-
ANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XZVIII
OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City
of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and
made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being
situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds
as follows:
Being a tract of land about 7 miles south from
the County Courthouse in Fort Worth, Tarrant County,
Texas, and lying in Block 13 of the Shelby County
School land Survey.
BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort
Worth City Limit Line at its intersection with the
westerly right- of-way line of the I. and G. N. RR.;
THENCE northeasterly, crossing the I. and G. N.
RR right- of-way at right angles, to a point in the
easterly right-of-way line of said railroad;
THENCE southeasterly along the easterly right -of-
way line of said railroad to its intersection with
the north line of Joel East Road (County Road No,
1123);
THENCE west along the north line of Joel East
Road (County Road No. 1123) to its intersection with
the present City of Fort Worth north -sonth City Limit
Line in Block 13, Shelby County School Land Survey;
THENCE north along the present City of Fort Worth
City Limit Line to the place of beginning and con -
taining approximately 16 acres.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth
Press, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fart Worth, in accordance
with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in fall force and
effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty
(30) days from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so
ordained.
Presented and passed on first reading Friday, the day of
1958.
