Rehabilitate Airfield Lighting for Taxiway A Overview: This project is for CONSTRUTION & CM. Existing Taxiway "A" Edge Lighting and Circuitry is at the point of critical failure. The existing system is part of the original airport development and needs to be replaced in its entirety. The existing In-Pavement and Elevated Runway Guard Lights for both runways are out of service and require replacement. The system is currently NOTMED out of service and affects the CAT III Service in accordance with the approved SMGCS Plan. In-Pavement runway guard lights currently utilize transformers that are located within the lighting fixture can which routinely overheat and cause failures. Major Work Items: This project will require the replacement of airfield lighting fixtures, cable, conduit, and pavement replacement within the airfield shoulders. All components are a replacement of existing components. Construction activity will require minimal equipment. Justification: The existing system is at the point of failure. System components are no longer manufactured or supported. Environmental Review: This project is anticipated to pose minimal environmental impact, as defined by FAA Order 5050.413, NEPA, Chapter 6, Categorical Exclusion. Our preliminary determination is that FAA CATEX 309b and associated construction emissions will meet the environmental review and approval for the project. 2.
