HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 21309-07-2014 Ordinance No. 21309-07-2014 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GOLF GAS LEASE CAPITAL PR.OJEC:'"I" FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000.00 FOR THE PECAN VALLEY GOLF COURSE; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY (A FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Golf Gas Lease Capital Project Fund in the amount of$500,000.00 for the Pecan. Valley Golf Course. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment:shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 20952-09-2013 and at[ other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which insonce said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Golf Gas Lease Capital Project Fund in the amount of$500,000.00 for Pecan Valley Golf Course; and 2. Authorize the execution of an Engineering Agreement with Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., in the mount of$78,900.00 for the design and preparation of construction documents for a new irrigation pump station at Pecan Valley Golf Course. DISCUSSION: The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication is to of the attached appropriation ordinance and to authorize the City Manager to execute an Engineering Agreement with Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., in the amount of$78,900.00 for the design and preparation of construction documents for a new irrigation pump station at Pecan Valley Golf Course. The existing golf course irrigation pump station was installed in 1960 and is in need of replacement. The station operation has been compromised due to and degradation f infrastructure components. The pump station no longer provides the required irrigation system capacity and requires relocation to a more stable location away from the river bank. The proposed irrigation pump station will provide the pumping capacity to service both the River course and the Hills course; a total of 36 holes. The current irrigation u station was initially designed to provide for a 27 hole irrigation operation. The installation of a new irrigation pump station will eliminate low pressure irrigation volume problems experienced at the outer irrigation stations and provide for a more energy efficient operating system. The golf course will remain open during the installation of the r pump station, which is scheduled to begin in December 2014, M/WBE OFFICE - Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 11 percent SBE participation on this project.
