2. Authorize the execution of an Engineering Agreement with Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., in the

DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication is to of the attached appropriation ordinance
and to authorize the City Manager to execute an Engineering Agreement with Pape-Dawson Engineers,
Inc., in the amount of$78,900.00 for the design and preparation of construction documents for a new
irrigation pump station at Pecan Valley Golf Course.
The existing golf course irrigation pump station was installed in 1960 and is in need of replacement. The
station operation has been compromised due to and degradation f infrastructure components. The
pump station no longer provides the required irrigation system capacity and requires relocation to a more
stable location away from the river bank.
The proposed irrigation pump station will provide the pumping capacity to service both the River course
and the Hills course; a total of 36 holes. The current irrigation u station was initially designed to
provide for a 27 hole irrigation operation. The installation of a new irrigation pump station will eliminate
low pressure irrigation volume problems experienced at the outer irrigation stations and provide for a more
energy efficient operating system.
The golf course will remain open during the installation of the r pump station, which is scheduled
to begin in December 2014,
M/WBE OFFICE - Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc., is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by
committing to 11 percent SBE participation on this project. The City's E goal on this project is 11
percent.
