AN ORDINANCE MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS; PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF IM ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; AND NAMING AIN EFFECTIVE DATE, WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, wherein all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: BEGINNING at the former southeast corner of the corporate limit of the Village of Edgecliff, Texas, said point being in the south line of Sycamore School Road (County Road No® 1059), 950 vrs® east of the east line of the State Farm to Market Hwy® o® 731; THENCE North 870 53' West with the south line of Sycamore School Road (County Road No. 1059), 394®7 -feet to a point on said line; THENCE North 0022' East 285.0 feet; THENCE North 5*00' West 117®0 feet; THENCE South 81051' East 192.3 feet; THENCE North 84046' East 90.0 feet; THENCE North 5*14' West 115.0 feet; THENCE South 84*46' West 30®0 feet; THENCE North 7'57' West 246.1 feet; THENCE North 0*03' West 868.0 feet; THENCE North 12049' West 444®3 feet; THENCE North 70*00' East 15.0 feet; THENCE North 2514' West 120®0 feet; THENCE North 64"46' East 35®0 feet; THENCE North 25*14' West 50.0 feet; THENCE North 21*00' West 173®0 feet to a point in the north line of a tract of land conveyed to E. L. Trimble, et al , by deed recorded in Vol. 3830, Page 269 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE North 89'46' East with said line, 383.2 feet to a point on the former east corporate limit of the Village of Edgecliff; THENCE South 0® ' East along said boundary line 2362®0 feet to the point of beginning and containing 13.8 acres, more or less° was held at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of Fort Worth, Texas on the 13th day of December, 1965 which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the insti- tution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Fort Worth, 'Texas and in the above described territory on the 26th day of November, 1965 which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Fort Worth, 'Texas is 391,000 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Fort Worth, Texas; and WHEREAS, the -territory above described lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Fort Worth, Texas; and WHEREAS, the territory above described contains 13®0 acres; and WHEREAS, a petition has been signed by the owners of all of the land in the above described terri- tory requesting the annexation of such territory by the City of Fort Worth, Texas and such petition has been filed with the City Council; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The following described land and territory 'lying adjaceiit to and adjoining the City of Fort Worth, Texas is hereby added and annexed to the City of Fort Worth, Texas and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas and the present boundary limits of said city, at the various points contiguous to the area herein... after described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, to wit: BEGINNING at the former southeast corner of the corporate limit of the Village of Edgecliff, Texas, said point being in the south line of Sycamore School Road (County Road No. 1059), 950 vrs. east of the east line of the State Farm to Market Hwy. No. 731; THENCE North 87*53' West with the south line of Sycamore School Road (County IRaod No. 1059) 394.7 feet to a point on said line; THENCE North 0*22' East 285.0 feet; THENCE North 5000' West 117.0 feet; THENCE South 81051' East 192.3 feet; THENCE North 84046' East 90.0 feet; THENCE North 5014' West 115.0 feet; THENCE South 84046' West 30.0 feet; THENCE North 7*57' West 246.1 feet; THENCE North 0'03' West 868.0 feet; THENCE North 12*49' West 444.3 feet; THENCE North 70*00' East 15.0 feet; THENCE North 25*14' West 120.0 feet; THENCE North 64*46' East 35.0 feet; THENCE North 25*14' West 50.0 feet; THENCE North 21000' West 173.0 feet to a point in the north line of a tract of land conveyed to E. L. Trimble, et al, by deed recorded in Vol. 3830, Page 269 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, THENCE North 89'46' East with said line 383.2 feet to a point on the former east corporate limit of the Village of Edgecliff; THENCE South 0® ' East along said boundary line 2362.0 feet to the point of beginning and containing 13.8 acres, more or less. SECTION 2. The above described territory and the area annexed shall be a part of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Fort Worth, Texas. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances, not in direct conflict herewith this ordi- nance shall be and is hereby made cumulative. SECTION 4. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases, or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage on first readingrand publication and its passage on second reading as provided for in Section 40 of Chapter XXVIII of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth and it is so ordained.
