SUBJECT:
Amend City Secretary Contract Nos. 28047 and 28048 with the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug
Enforcement Administration for FY2003-2004
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:

2. Authorize the agreement to begin October 1, 2003, an expire September 30, 2004.
DISCUSSION:
The Fort Worth Police Department has been an active partner in the DEA/Multi-Agency Task Force, which

and is reimbursed for overtime costs up to $14,116 per officer, per year. In addition, all clerical costs
associated with the program operations are currently covered by the agreement. These task forces are an
integral part of strategic plans to combat illicit drug importation and are vital to department operations.
City Secretary Contract Nos. 28047 (DEA/Multi-Agency Task Force Agreement) and 28048 (DEA
Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Task Force) will be amended to extend the agreements to FY2003-2004 and
update the reimbursement amounts as appropriate.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that the Police Department will be responsbile for the collection of revenues
under these agreements.
