COUNTY OF TARRANT $
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and CH2M Hill, Inc . ,
(Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No.
28977, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by
M&C C-19675 on the 29th day of July 2003 ; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Engineering contract for the design of Southside II Water
Transmission Main from Rolling Hills Treatment Plant to the
Crowley Road/Risinger Road Intersection.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1
to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement which amends the Contract:

Article I of the Contract is amended to include the
additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter
dated October 6, 2004, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design
services to be performed by Engineer total $8, 700 . 00 .

Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work
and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $622, 649 .00 .

All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended
herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Surge Analysis Proposal

Per your request,we have.prepared a Scope of Services to perform a.surge analysis for-the
Southside ll Water Transmission Main from Rolling Hills Water TreattmntI'lant to the-Crowley
load/Rsinger_Road Intersection.
The following describes the proposed.Surge Analysis Scope and Cost
Task t.Vats Gathering
Obtain the following data from the City and/or other sources in order to perform the surge
analysis:
• Pump curves at Rolling Hills WTP
• Sump elevation(or range of elevations)at the WTP
• Downstream.boundarycondidons (anticipated pressure(s)at Crowley/Risinger connection).
• Maximum flow anticipated in the transmission main
• Any additional,information reqs Bred by the modelers to perform an adequate surge analysis.
'ask 2 Surge Modeling
Perform surge modeling on the approximate 7 miles of 48"and 54"Southside II WTM,from the
Rolling Hills WTP to the connection near Crowley and Risinger Roads.
Task 3:Technical Memo
Document the surge modeling procedures,all boundary conditions and assumptions used in the
model,the-results from the surge model,and recommendations for surge protection on the.
Southside II WTM.
Schedule
We will attempt to obtain all data within one week of notice to proceed,with the understanding
that response from outside parties may be beyond our control.Upon obtaining all the data
required,we will perform the surge modelling and produce the final technical.memo within 14
calendar days.
Our total proposed fee for performing the work is=$8,700.00.
