DISCUSSION: The West Rosedale Streetscape Improvements Project will significantly alter the appearance of the roadway by providing landscape and pedestrian enhancements from 8th Avenue to South Main Street (City Project No. 0459). This phase of the project includes reducing the number of vehicle lanes from six to four and installing curb line bulb-outs, on-street parking, pedestrian improvements, landscaping, and lighting under a context sensitive approach to enhance the corridor. The purpose of this proposed change order is to provide communication conduits from Eighth Avenue west to Forest Park Boulevard to support the City's Citywide Fiber Master Plan for Communication and to add a bike rack, pavers, benches, landscaping, and pavement markings not previously specified along West Rosedale. Change Order 1 added conduit from South Main Street to 8th Avenue. The Traffic Management Group requests that the conduit be extended from 8th Avenue to Forest Park Boulevard. The landscaping improvements include installing a bike rack, benches, and pavers to a block of West Rosedale that had not been shown originally, but is in support of a new business on this block.
