Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 18511-03-2009ORDINANCE NO 18511-03-2009 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 18448-02-2009 ORDERING A GENERAL ELECTION BY THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, ON SATURDAY THE 9TH DAY OF MAY 2009 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TO AMEND ELECTION DAY POLLING LOCATIONS AND EARLY VOTING LOCATIONS. WHEREAS the City Council adopted Ordinance No 18448-02 2009 on February 3 2009 ordering a general election to be held on May 9 2009 for the Purpose of Electing the Mayor and Council Members for the City of Fort Worth, and WHEREAS the City desires to change election day polling locations, and WHEREAS the Crty desires to designate Early Voting Clerks for Tarrant, Denton, and Parker County and WHEREAS the City desires to delete early voting locations and add new early voting locations, and add temporary early voting locations and times. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 POLLING LOCATIONS. Section 5 of Ordinance No 18448-02 2009 is hereby repealed m its entirety and replaced as follows SECTION 5. EARLY VOTING CLERKS. (a) Tarrant and Denton Counties. (1) That Steve Raborn, Tarrant County Elections Administrator shall serve as the early voting clerk for Tarrant and Denton Counties. Mr Raborn s official mailing address is Steve Raborn, Early Voting Clerk P O Box 961011 Fort Worth, TX 76161-0011 (2) Applications for ballots by mail shall be mailed to Steve Raborn at the address set out in subsection (a)(1) Applications for ballot by mail must be received no later than the close of business on May 1 2009 (b) Parker County (1) That Robert =Parten, Parker County Elections Administrator shall serve as the early voting clerk for Parker County Mr Parten s official mailing address is Robert Parten, Early Voting Clerk 1112 Santa Fe Dr Weatherford, TX (2) Applications for ballots by mail shall be mailed to Robert Parten at the address set out m subsection (b)(1) Applications for ballot by mail must be received no later than the close of business on May 1 2009 (c) Marty Hendnx, City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth, shall serve as chief deputy early voting clerk for Tarrant, Denton and Parker Counties. SECTION 2. EARLY VOTING LOCATIONS. Exhibit A to Ordinance No 18448-02 2009 is hereby repealed in its entirety and replaced with Amended Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof SECTION 3 ELECTION DAY POLLING LOCATIONS Exhibit B to Ordinance No 18448-02 2009 is hereby repealed m its entirety and replaced with Amended Exhibit B attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 4. OPEN MEETING COMPLIANCE. That ~t is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance was adopted was open to the public and public notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. That this ordinance, amended election order proclamation, call and notice shall take effect upon adoption.
