Dear M,,• Harder: This letter describes our fee proposal for additional planning and evaluations in- connection with the above-referenced study. This proposal for additional fee is based primarily on the City's desire to perform a number of additional investigations and economic evaluations associated with consideration of using the City's Riverside Wastewater Treatment Plant(RWWTP) site as the location of a peak flow detention facility. These additional investigations and evaluations are not presently included in the above-referenced contract scope. The additional work includes the following items. • Planning of additional sewer model runs to determine required facility sizes and evaluation of the model results. • Conceptual design of and opinion of cost for the peak flow storage facility at the RWWTP site. • Conceptual design of and opinions of cost for wastewater transport facilities between the RWWTP site and the intersection of the West Fork and Little Fossil Interceptors. This additional work is necessary so that each study alternative can be compared on an equal basis. The wastewater transport facilities include: ■ A gravity flow"third barrel" ■ A lift station and force main • Resizing of Fossil Creek Satellite Wastewater Treatment Plant (FCSWWTP) facilities based on additional model runs. • Revision of FCSWW`1P opinions of cost • Economic evaluation of an additional project alternative that included the 7524 MOSIERVIEW COURT peak flow detention facility at the RWWTP and the resized FCSWWTP. Page 2 June 27, 2003 • Identification of non-economic issues for this additional project alternative. • Meeting with Freese and Nichols,Fort Worth Water Department staff, and Fort Worth Parks Department staff to discuss potential RWWTP site issues. • Coordination of the RWWTP peak flow detention facility schedule with other activities at the site. • Additional reporting for all items mentioned above. The attached Table 1 shows increased fees associated with each of the above items. The addition of Amendment 3 would revise the total contract amount to $1,011,669.78. Enclosed are five original copies of the Amendment. We have enjoyed working with the City on this project and feel that valuable information has been developed to help the City make decisions concerning options for meeting its wastewater collection and treatment needs.
