COUNTY OF TARRANT $
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Camp, Dresser &
McKee, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 27761 , (the Contract) which was authorized by the City
Council by M&C C-19103 on the 28th day of May, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Engineering design of Northside II 48-inch Water Main
Extension Contract 2, Sections A and B.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to
said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through
their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following
agreement which amends the Contract:

Article I, of the Contract is amended to include the addition-
al engineering services specified in M&C C-19773, adopted by the
City Council on the 30th day of September, 2003, and further
amplified in a proposal letter dated August 14, 2003, copies of
which are both attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to
City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total
$44 ,586.22 .

Article II, of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and
services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not
exceed the sum of $1 ,309, 917 .52 .
All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly
amended herein shall remain i fill force and effect.

Subject: Holly/Northside II Water Main Extension,Contract 2,Sections A&B, from
Northside Pump Station to Harmon Road, Engineering Amendment One
Dear Mr. Sholola:
The City of Fort Worth has requested additional engineering services of CDM on the subject
project. CDM's engineering services contract for this project was executed on May 28,2002,
under City Secretary Contract Number 27761. The lump sum amount of the contract was
$1,265,331. The original design contract included 61,000 linear feet of 54-inch and 48-inch
waterline, associated waterline appurtenances,miscellaneous water and sewer line
replacements,and railroad/highway crossing. The waterline will transport water from the
Northside Pump Station(currently under design) to Park Glenn Boulevard.
We are pleased to provide these services to you,and have provided a listing of the out of
scope items and the associated fees on the attached tables. The total for the amendment is
$44,586.52,resulting in a revised total contact amount of$1,309,917.52.

1 Prepared SWPP plans for three units (Section A) for specific site conditions including written
plan,sample forms and plan sheets for a total of 61,000 linear feet of pipe. Added SWPP to bid
proposals and provided 5 copies for bidders of Section A. SWPP plans will be prepared for
Section B.
2 Meet with City of FW Traffic Engineer, prepared traffic control plan (2 sheets)for 2 separate bid
packages, included in 45 copies of plans for bidding. Traffic Control plan will be prepared for
Section B (2 Units)
3 CDM was directed to prepare plans for reconstruction of McCandless Street. Additional survey
was performed and preliminary plans for the reconstruction were started. TPW determined that
funding was not available for the reconstruction of McCandless. Therefore plans were changed
to POL. (Section A)
4 Attended meetings with land owners, communicated with landowners by phone, provided
additional copies of exhibits and plans for land owners, attended weekly easement meetings
with real property and DOE. (Section A)
5 CDM was directed to extend the project end point from Harmon Road Oust south of US 287) to
Heritage Trace Parkway. Contract was 61,000 linear feet. (Section A)

copies of exhibits and plans for land owners, attended weekly easement meetings with real
property and DOE.

Amendment No. 1 to Engineering Agreement with Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. for Northside 1148-
inch Water Main Extension Contract 2, Sections A and B
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to City
Secretary Contract No. 27761 with Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. in the amount of $44,586.52 to provide
additional design and survey services on the project, thereby increasing the contract amount to
$1,309,917.52.
DISCUSSION:
On May 28, 2002 (M&C C-19103), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with
Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., in the amount of $1,265,331.00 for the Northside II 48-inch Water Main
Extension Contract 2, Sections A and B.
This amendment will allow Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. to provide the following additional design services:
a. The preparation of storm water pollution prevention plans along with erosion control plans as now
required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality;
b. The preparation of a traffic control plan for the project;
c. The preparation of plans to allow for pulverization and asphalt overlay of McCandless Street
subsequent to water main installation on the street; and
d. The preparation of plans for the installation of 3,100 linear feet of 48-inch water main that were added
to extend the project ending point to Heritage Trace Parkway.
Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. proposes to provide the necessary additional design and survey services for a
fee of$44,586.52. Staff considers this amount to be fair and reasonable.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 2 and 7, Mapsco 34H, M, R and V; 35W; 4713, C, D, F, G,
L, Q, U and Y; 48A, B, C and H; and 49A, B, E and F.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current capital budge, as appropriated, of the
Water Capital Projects Fund.
