DISCUSSION: On February 13, 2001 (M&C C-18456), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with Dunaway Associates, Inc. in the amount of $509,997.13 for Sanitary Sewer Main 1-1-1 Condition Assessment and Drainage Area Evaluation Study. The contract was subsequently revised by four previous amendments totaling $356,673.60 that are further described as follows: Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $14,000.00, provided for the boundary survey of a tract of land that the City purchased within the Main 1-1-1 project area; and Amendment No. 2 (M&C C-18822), in the amount of$299,831.40, provided necessary design services for the replacement of 14,536 linear feet of severely deteriorated sewer pipe within the project area_ The poor condition of the identified segment of the sewer pipe was unknown at the time the original agreement was executed; and Amendment No. 3 in the amount of $24,942.20, provided for the necessary design services for the replacement of the following water and sewer improvements located within the M1-1-1 project area:1,250 linear feet of water line along Calhoun Street and 720 linear feet of a severely deteriorated segment of sewer main M-132 located within the M1-1-1project area. The poor condition of the identified segments of water and sewer pipe was unknown at the time the original agreement was executed; and Amendment No. 4 in the amount of $17,900.00, provided for revisions to the project plans to accommodate proposed improvements on some project streets by the Transportation and Public Works Department. In addition, the plans and specifications were updated to comply with current City design standards. Results of recent field investigation revealed that several sanitary sewer lines under U.S. Highway 287 and East Lancaster Avenue are in need of replacement due to deteriorated pipe condition. Under this Amendment No. 5, the Engineer will prepare approximately 2,200 Linear Feet (LF) of design to relocate these deteriorated sewers. In addition, the Engineer will prepare plans to relocate six (6) sanitary sewer services in the vicinity of North Hampton Street, Johnson Street and Hays Street, from the back of property to street to ease future maintenance. http://www.cfwnet.org/council_packet/Reports/mc_print.asp -.1 ;, - 8/18/2004 'phis property is located in COUNCIL DIS"rRICT No. 9.
