WHEREAS., the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Carter & Burgess, Inc. ,
(ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 25335, (the
CONTRACT) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-17684 on the
12th day of October, 1999 and subsequently revised by Amendment No. 1
which was authorized by the City Council on the 14th day of May, 2002
(M&C C-19078) , Amendment No. 2 which was authorized by the City on the
26th day of November, 2002, Amendment No. 3 which was authorized by the
City on the 3rd day of March, 2003 ; Amendment No. 4 which was authorized
by the City Council on the 24th day of June, 2003 (M&C C-1966) ,
Amendment #5 which was authorized by the City on the 30th day of
November, 2004, and Amendment #6 which was authorized by the City on the
25th day of March, 2005;
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
North Tarrant Parkway from US 377 to IH-35W;
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 7 to said
Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their
duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement,
which amends the Contract:

Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in Exhibits A, B, and C dated October 25,
2005, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein. The
cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by
Engineer total $2, 000 . 00 .

Article II of the Contract is amended to provide forin-c ease in �
the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services

performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by
the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of
$672, 127 .22 .

All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly
amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect.

EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF WORK
TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SERVICES AT
North Tarrant Parkway
PROJECT PARAMETERS
The following assumptions pertain to the provision of Basic Services:
A. The PROJECT will consist of the following activities, as requested by the CLIENT:
Task 1.0 Traffic signal design modification for the following intersection along North
Tarrant Parkway:
1. Parkwood
Task 2.0 Additional Services
B. CLIENT will review approved plans and provide recommendations in a timely manner.
C. PROJECT is located within the City of Fort Worth, Texas
D. PS&E Plans prepared by Carter& Burgess (June 2004) will be used as the basis for
base conditions associated with the PROJECT.
E. It is assumed for the purpose of this proposal that the existing specifications used by the
City of Fort Worth will be used for the intersection re-design plans.

TASK 1.0 TRAFFIC SIGNAL DESIGNS
1.1 Modify signal design to incorporate the addition of a driveway on the north side of
the intersection of Parkwood and N. Tarrant Parkway from the proposed design for
the following intersections:
• Parkwood
1.2 Develop construction plan sheets showing traffic signal poles, detector loops,
conduit runs, wiring diagram, and signal face locations.
1.3 Develop plan view sheets showing elevations on traffic signal indications, poles,
and any traffic control signs to be mounted on the traffic signal.
1.4 Develop wiring diagram sheet showing the number and type of electric wire runs
between the signal controller and indications.
1.5 Develop traffic signal phasing. This does not include detail analysis or
determination of splits or cycle lengths.
1.6 Develop quantity estimate sheet.
1.7 Insert appropriate standard sheets from the Texas Department of Transportation
(or the City of Fort Worth as determined by the CLIENT).
1.8 Submit one (1) draft copy of the construction plans and bid documents for review by
the CLEINT.
1.9 Provide one (1) set of reproducible mylar final drawings and specifications.
1.10 Prepare one time, an ENGINEER's opinion of probable construction cost based on
the approved drawings, specifications, and materials. Prepare ENGINEER's
estimate per CLIENT fiscal requirements.

TASK 2.0 ADDITIONAL SERVICES
The tasks stipulated in this section are specifically excluded from the scope of the
Transportation Engineering Services. In the event these additional services are required, a
scope of services and any fee for additional services shall be agreed upon between CLIENT and
ENGINEER in advance of services being accomplished; and the Agreement shall be amended.
These services include but are not limited to the following:
2.1 Any additional intersection manual turning movement counts or 24-hour
intersection tube counts that may be required.
2.2 Any analysis (Synchro, PASSER, TRANSYT-7F, etc) that may be required by the
CLIENT.
2.3 Additional field adjustments to Traffic Signal Timing Plans.

COMPENSATION
1.1 FEE/COMPENSATION FOR SERVICES AND REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES
Director Labor: No retainer fee is required to begin Task 1.0 for this project. Direct labor to
complete the transportation engineering services is described below:

EXHIBIT "C"
SERVICES BY THE CLIENT
1.1 In general, the CLIENT and its representatives to their best of their efforts will render
services as follows:
1.1.1 Provide full information as the CLIENT's requirements for the PROJECT.
1.1.2 Assist the ENGINEER by placing at his disposal all available written data
pertinent to previous operation, reports and any other data affecting the
PROJECT.
1.1.3. Respond promptly in writing to requests by the ENGINEER for authorization
to proceed with specific activities deemed desirable.
1.1.4 Examine documents submitted by the ENGINEER and render decisions
pertaining thereto, promptly, to avoid unreasonable delay in the progress of
the ENGINEER'S services.
1.1.5 Furnish information required of him as expeditiously as necessary for the
orderly progress of the work.
1.2 The ENGINEER shall be entitled to rely upon the CLIENT's representative, who shall be
identified in writing, regarding decisions to be made by CLIENT; further, all notices or
information shall be deemed made when conveyed to the representative.
1.3 The services, information, and reports required by Paragraph 1.1 (above) 1.1.1 through
1.1.5 inclusive shall be furnished at the CLIENT's expense, and the ENGINEER shall be
entitled to rely upon the accuracy and completeness thereof.
