Reconstruction of Gravel mase Streets - .TLB - memo to Thelin for addi,, `� Wedgwood (M&C C-70) information Council discussed this M&C providing for the reconstruction of 13 gravel base streets in the Wedgwood Addition. Representatives of Public Works Department were present to expl iin past problems in street construction due to inadequte developer' s policies and street specifications, and lack of sufficient inspectors. r Councilman Hamm suggested that the City not assume responsibility for supervision of future street construction projects, but require the con- tractor to be responsible for meeting specifica- tions, and verify by use of independent lab tests. Mr. Thelin stated it was preferable to discover deviations before completion in order tlk:tt cor- rective action could be taken. General discussion followed on award of this particular contract,with no consensus of Council as to action to be taken at Council meeting, award of contract was delayed one week, and additional information on other bidders was requested. 2. Intersection Improvements - W. 1th, Univer- sity Drive , and Camp Bowie The Tr ..ffic Engineer was present to discuss this project , and indicated that this section of University Drive had been left out of paving pro- ject pending final determination of intersection FOFFICIAL improvements. TheTraffic Engineer stated that RECORD his department , Public Works, and Planning had R�TARY each developed proposed improvements at this intersection, and that a combination of these 3 plans would probably be selected. FT. WORTH, ID Aft I t e m Follow-up It was indicated that the final plans for Gene - Agenda this intersection would not materially affect the pending University Drive paving project. Consensus of Council was to place the University Drive paving project on agenda for next week. 3. Change Order No. 1, Ederville Road Water NAN Main (M&C C-69) Councilman Hamm stated Lhat his questions concerning this Change Order had been answered by the M&C, and that he was ready to approve the Change Order. This action was taken at Council meetinx. _ 4. Use of Criminal Courts Building (M&C C-68) KD - prepare additional inform,v: _o�>. Several questions were raised concerning the plan for using the Old Criminal Courts Building for City offices, and consensus of Council was to delay action on this item in order that additional study could be given to the matter.
