1. Report on Fire Realignment Program and Survey J.L.B.
by National Board
Mr. H. Keepers and Mr. Horton of the Texas
Fire Prevention and Engineering Bureau were present
to outline the fire realignment program developed
Lor the City by the Texas Bureau, and reviewed by
the National Board of Fire Underwriters.
Mr. Keepers reported that a survey by the
National Board would probably not begin before about
two years after the request and that the actual field
work would require approximately 6 weeks, with an-
other 8 months required for preparation of the report .
Mr Keepers also reported that the most urgent
need for improvements in the City's fire program was
the development of an adequate fire training program
and physical facilities for training.
Councilman Barr requested information from the
Fire Chief concerning the Fire Department Advisory
Cummictee , and their consensus concerning the fire
realignmeuL program.
In response to questions concerning the ade-
quacy of fire department personnel, Mr. Keepers
stated that approximately 100 additional personnel
would be needed in order to bring the strength up
to that recommended by the National Board.
Council voted at the regular meeting to request
a survey by the National Board at their earliest
convenience.
2. Special Council Meeting - June 11 NAN
The City Manager reminded the Council of the
Special Council Meeting at 4:00 P.M. , June 11 ,

3. University Drive Paving Project NAN
The City Manager informed the Council that

several property owners, but that Mr. Law would

4. Burton Hill Improvement Project K.D. - Prepare I.R.
Councilman Hamm requested that M&C C-97 award-
ing the contract for this project be delayed for
one week, and that a copy of the petition for this
project be furnished to the Council.
I'he award of contract was delayed for one week
at the regular meeting. _
5. Vacancy Zoning Board NAN
Councilman Willie referred to the vacancy on
the Zoning Board and indicated that he would like
to make a nomination for an appointment to this
position .
Consensus of Council was to postpone all ap-
pointments to Boards until the entire Council was
present.
