Rates for Vehicle Wrecker and Storage Services DEF - Place rate ordinance on _ (IR #1317) Agenda for 12/27/67 Mayor Pro-To-m Sarsgard opened Elie discussion by asking; it anyone had any questions concerning the IR. The City M:ana or stated that if this meets the Council 's approval that the -staff will prepare a rate ordinance. Amondment. to Ambulance Ordinance Regulating MAN Medi-Coach Service (M&C G-1175) fila City Manager explained the proposed M&C relating Lo th, providin$, of Modi-coach service Mr . Kemble said that he iolt like this was something that was needed and as he iinclt rstood it anv firm can provide this s(,rvice; it is riot _xchisivuly limited to one firm. The City Manager agreed that this was correct . Approved in regular sessi,,n. 3. a,ntract with Haltom City for the Improv-meth of DEF - Follow up getting, contract heath Street (M&C C- lilt,) signed and make distribution The Cjtv Mi+tia),vi explained the main points of the contract. between Haltom City and Furl Worth for the improve- ment of Beach Street . He explained that the proposed pave- ment would be 44l Leet wide with provision for future widen- ing; to hO feet for the inclusion of a 42-inch water line. Mr . Hoover asked if we would have room for a water line in the 20 feet . Jack Graham explained that alternate designs of pavement have been considered . but details have not been ua.,rkt-d out. . Mr . Sarsgard asked when we would know what we will build. Mr Graham replied in approximately 2 months the %_ngineerink details will be complete . Mr. Kemble asked if we n clirruEly have a water line in the street . Mr. Itardv said that we have a small line in Beach Street but we are talking about a bit; one later. Mr . Wilson asked FT. WORTht TL, ii the City of Fort Worth is getting; a good deal on this con- tract and the City Manager replied that it is very advantageous to the Citv Mr. Sarsgard remarked that just working together is a good deal for both pities . 4 . Pedestrian Crossing; on Sylvania Avenue (1R #1310) (IDM - assignment Mr. Kvmble commented on item 4 that AMCOT is basit•ally a.king; Lor a change in policy. Mr. Hoover cummented Ehat he thinks that we should put in a light at AMCOT's expense. Mr. 2 Dunham asked what is our policy in regard to underpasses . The Manager replied basically our policy is for private industry and business to provide such overpasses or under- passes at their own expense. Mr. Hoover said that he thinks we should discourage underground passageways be- cause of maintenance and general policy problems . Referred back to staff at regular session. 5 , Interchange at Interstate 35W and Odom Ruad DEF - Agenda for 12727/67 (IR "#1312) Mr. Sarsgard said , "I think many of you will be iamiliar with the diamond interchange at Stemmons Freeway and Inwood Drive in Dallas . The traffic is greater there than the 1985 projection for Odom Road. " Mr. Dunham asked if the areas served by the two interchanges were comparable . He wondered if Odom Road wouldn't have more truck traffic than the interchange at Dallas and don't trucks create a worse condition than what approximately five cars would pro- vide. Mr. Hoover said, "Could we not provide free u-turn movement underneath the freeway when the diamond is rebuilt?" The City Manager commented this is the presnet plan. Mr. Kersnick said , "I think we should go ahead like we had planned ." Mr. Sarsgard commented that, "We need to do something now. The staff is divided on whether a cloverleaf is required and the Texas Highway Department will not help finance thi- project ." Mr. Hoover asked how much room do we need outside the corners for the improved diamond and Mr. Graham said , "None. It can - all be done within the Texas Highway Department right-of-way."
