SUBJECT: 2004 Eligible Charities for the Charitable Contribution Goal
Provided for in Amendment No. 1 of the Tax Abatement Agreement
with Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth
In December 2001, Council approved a Tax Abatement Agreement with Plaza Medical
Center of Fort Worth (Plaza Medical) with an amendment that requires Plaza Medical to
make an aggregate contribution of at least $25,000 annually to one or more charities of
its choice from a list provided by the Economic & Community Development Department.
As required by Amendment No.1 to the Tax Abatement Agreement with Plaza Medical,
staff from the Economic & Community Development Department has prepared a list of
eligible charities to be sent to Plaza Medical. The Central City Revitalization and
Economic Development Committee reviewed the list at its January 13, 2004 meeting
and directed staff to present the list to the entire Council for review.
The list of eligible charities is attached for the Council's review. Unless directed
otherwise, staff will send the list of eligible charities to Plaza Medical on February 6,
2004.
