JOINT RESOLUTION AND AGREEMENT
STATE OF TEXAS §
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
COUNTY OF TARRANT §
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is a home rule city lying and
being situated within the confines of the County of Tarrant, State
of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Benbrook is a home rule city lying and
being situated within the confines of the County of Tarrant, State
of Texas ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth and the City of Benbrook desire
to adjust their boundary lines so that the proposed expansion of
Bryant Irvin Road shall be solely within the Fort Worth city limits,
thereby facilitating the construction, maintenance and policing
of said Bryant Irvin Road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND MUTUALLY AGREED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BENBROOK:
1 .
That the following boundary realignment between the City of
Fort Worth and the City of Benbrook, as hereafter described, is in
the best interests of the property owners and inhabitants of both
cities and that the City of Fort Worth and the City of Benbrook will
proceed with due diligence in adopting the necessary annexation and
disannexation ordinances adjusting their respective corporate
boundaries and all other proceedings necessary to effectuate this
agreement.

That the City of Fort Worth and the City of Benbrook do hereby
covenant and agree to protect, preserve and defend the hereinafter
described boundary realignment.
3.
That the City of Benbrook hereby agrees to discontinue from its
corporate boundary and to release all its jurisdictional rights it
may have in and to all territories embraced within the area shown on
Exhibit "A" , attached hereto and made a part hereof, and described
by metes and bounds as follows :
A tract of land in the E. H. Burke Survey, Abstract
No. 160, in Tarrant County, Texas, more particularly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a corner in the present city limit line of
Fort Worth, Texas, said point being in the east line of
the E. H. Burke Survey, Abstract No. 160, and on the
southerly right-of-way line of Bellaire Drive South,
extended easterly;
THENCE: Westerly to and along this southerly right-of-way
line of Bellaire Drive with the present city limits line
-, as described in City Ordinance No. 8178 to the westerly
right-of-way line of Bryant Irvin Road;
THENCE: Southerly along the westerly right-of-way line of
Bryant Irvin Road to the northeasterly right-of-way line'
of Southwest Boulevard (Old Loop 820) ;
THENCE: Southwesterly to the most westerly northwest
corner of the J. L. Hansbrough Survey, Abstract No. 748,
being the present city limit line of Fort Worth;
THENCE: Easterly with a north line of the said Hansbrough
Survey and the present city limit line of Fort Worth to
the southeast corner of the E. H. Burke Survey, Abstract
No. 160;
THENCE: Northerly with the east line of said Burke Survey
and the present Fort Worth city limit line to the point of
beginning, containing approximately 2. 5 acres of land .

That the City of Fort Worth hereby agrees to annex the property
disannexed by the City of Benbrook, as described herein and shown in
Exhibit "A" , and the City of Fort Worth agrees to assume the rights
and obligations appurtenant to said property.
5.
That these terms and conditions set forth shall become effec-
tive and binding on Fort Worth and Benbrook by the adoption of this
Joint Resolution and Agreement in regular open City Council meetings
of the City of Fort Worth and the City of Benbrook, and that this
Joint Resolution and Agreement, upon adoption of both cities, shall
be executed in several originals and shall be spread in full on the

Minutes of each city. A copy of this Joint Resolution and Agreement
shall be executed by the Mayor and attested by the City Secretary of
each city.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Benbrook
this day of 1984.

appeared Bob Bolen, known to me to be the person whose name is sub-
scribed to the above and foregoing Joint Resolution and Agreement,
and acknowledged to me that he executed said Joint Resolution and
Agreement as the act and deed of the City of Fort Worth, a municipal
corporation, and as the Mayor thereof and for the purposes and con-
sideration therein expressed.
