Notice of claim re alleg There was presented a notice of claim from Ms. Nancy Kay Thomas regarding
damages - Nancy Kay alleged damages sustained on September 17, 1984, on Handley Drive two blocks north of
Thomas Meadowb rook, allegedly as the result of street conditions. It was the consensus of the
City Council that the notice of claim be referred to the Risk Management Division.
Notice of claim re alleg There was presented a notice of claim regarding alleged damages sustained by
damages - Mr. Craig Mr. Craig Milton Cowell on September 6, 1984, at I-20 and Highway 30 Int., allegedly as
Milton Cowell the result of an accident involving a City-owned vehicle. It was the consensus of the
City Council that the notice of claim be referred to the Risk Management Division.
Corr. and notice of clain There was presented correspondence from Mr. H. G. Wells submitting a notice
re alleg damages sust. of claim regarding alleged injuries sustained by Ms. Beverly Dupree on September 12,
by Beverly Dupree 1984, at 1700 Bishop Street and 3300 Avenue J, allegedly as the result of an automobile
accident. It was the consensus of the City Council that the correspondence and notice
of claim be referred to the Risk Management Division.
Corr. from Association r There was presented correspondence from Mr. Jerry Terrell, President of the
Retarded Citizens of Association for Retarded Citizens of Fort Worth, regarding group homes for mentally
Fort Worth retarded adults. It was the consensus of the City Council that the correspondence be
referred to the City Manager.
Acknowledge receipt of Attention of the City Council was called to a petition expressing opposition
petition to a group home for mentally retarded adults at 3604 Guadalupe Road.
Corr. from Mrs. Jane E. There was presented correspondence from Ms. Jane C. Wiggins, 2881 Bryson
Wiggins re health cards Road, Mansfield, relative to health card regulations. It was the consensus of the City
regulations Council that the correspondence be referred to the City Manager.
Introduced resolution Council Member Lancaster introduced a resolution and made a motion that it be
adopted. The motion was seconded by Mayor Pro tempore Stute. The resolution was read
by the City Secretary. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of said resolution,
prevailed by the following vote:
AYES: Mayor Bolen; Mayor Pro tempore Stute; Council Members Zapata,
Lancaster, Williams, Wetherby, Newkirk, and Ba gsby
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Johnson
The resolution, as adopted, is as follows:
Resolution No. 1016 RESOLUTION NO. 1016
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas regularly meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30
P.M. O'clock, in accordance with Section 3.1 of the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, City Council Rules of Procedures; and,
WHEREAS, the first Tuesday in November 1984, is November
6, 1984, and the City Council would be meeting normally at 7:30
P.M. on this date; and,
WHEREAS, the presidential and general elections are being
conducted on November 6, 1984, and a majority of our citizens will
be occupied on the evening of November 6, 1984, with the
presidential and general elections: NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS
That the meeting of the City Council normally scheduled
for 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, November 6, 1984, be scheduled for Tuesday,
November 6, 1984, at 2:00 P.M. o'clock.
Adopted Ord. No. 9188 o It appearing to the City Council that Ordinance No. 9188 was adopted by the
second reading annexing City Council on first reading on September 4, 1984, annexing 177.467 acres in the
177.467 acres in Miller Miller/South Candleridge Addition, that said ordinance was published in the Fort
South Candleride Additi n Worth-Star Telegram, the official newspaper of the City of Fort Worth, on September 7,
J�T,- a mown 30 days having elasped since publication, Council Member Wetherby
introduced Ordinance No. 9188 on second reading and made a motion that it be adopted.
The motion was seconded by Council Member Bagsby. The ordinance was read by the City
Secreta ry. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of said ordinance, prevailed by
the following vote:
AYES: Mayor Bolen; Mayor Pro tempore Stute; Council Members Zapata,
Lancaster, Williams, Wetherby, Newkirk, and Baqsby
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Johnson
