Humbolt, appeared before the City Council and appeared stated that, in his opinion, it is unfair to minority citizens not to publish advertisments for City of Fort Worth employment with minority-owned newspaper. Mr. Ronald L. Parrish L Mr. Ronald L. Parrish, 1419 Thomas Place, President of InterFirst Bank Fort appeared Worth, appeared before the City Council regarding the growing economy of Fort Worth and gave his perspective of growth and the economy health of Fort Worth. Mr Kenneth L. Allen Mr. Kenneth L. Allen, 3434 West 7th Street, appeared before the City Council appeared and requested that special homestead exemptions not be granted to people over 65 years of age. Mr Jud Cramer appeared Mr. Jud Cramer, P.O. Box 2920, Fort Worth, Texas, appeared before the City Council regarding the economic growth of Fort Worth and requested that the City Council maintain the current momentum. Mr. Bill Beuck appeared Mr. Bill Beuck, 121 East Exchange, appeared before the City Council and stated that, in his opinion, the City Council's deliberation of the budget should be very aggressive in the presuit of excellance for Fort Worth. Mrs. Louise Glashoff Mrs. Louise Glashoff, 5317 Nell Street, appeared before the City Council and appeared requested that the City Council grant special homestead exemptions to senior citizens. Conducted hearing on There being on one else present desiring to be heard in connection with the proposal to increase hearing on the proposed 1984-85 fiscal year budget and ad valorem tax levy, it was the ad valorem tax consensus of the City Council that the hearing in connection with the proposed 1984-85 fiscal year budget and ad valorem tax levy be continued from day to day and time to time especially to the City Council Meeting of September 11, 1984. There was no one present desiring to be in Tax Year 1984 heard in connection with the proposal to increase property tax revenues in tax year 1984. Introduced resolution Council Member Johnson introduced an resolution and made a motion that it be adopted. The motion was seconded by Council Member Zapata. The resolution was read by the City Secretary. The motion, carrying with it the adoption of said resolution, prevailed by the following vote: AYES: Mayor Bolen; Mayor Pro tempore Stute; Council Members Zapata, Johnson, Lancaster, Williams, Wetherby, Newkirk, and Bagsby NOES: None ABSENT: None The resolution, as adopted, is as follows: Resolution No. 1011 RESOLUTION NO. 1011 WHEREAS on September 42 1984, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, conducted a public hearing on a proposal to increase property taxes from $67,254,374 in tax year 1983 to $85,606,400 in tax year 1984; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: 1. That a public hearing to vote on the tax rate for the tax year 1984 will be held by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth on September 11, 1984, at 10:00 A.M. in the City Council Chambers of the Fort Worth Municipal Building, 1000 Throckmorton, Fort Worth, Texas. 2. That the City Secretary shall publish notice of such public hearing in accordance with Section 26.06(d) of the Tax Code of the State of Texas.
