Swan of the Fort Worth Police Department has received an honorable mention citation from Parade magazine and the International Association of Chiefs of Police as part of the 19th Annual Police Officer of the Year program; and, WHEREAS, this recognition is an outstanding achievement for Lt. Swan because police officers from throughout the nation are nominated but only a few receive this national acknowledgment; and, WHEREAS, Lt. Swan was selected because of his unrelenting efforts and tenacity in the six-month state-wide search and subsequent rescue of a kidnapped infant, Cherie Ann Kennedy; and, WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is proud of the national honor deservedly bestowed upon Lt. Swan: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,TEXAS, That Lt. Tom C. Swan be recognized and commended for his receiving of an honorable mention in the 19th Annual Police Officer of the Year Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and that a copy thereof be furnished to Lt. Swan.
