AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT BURNS STREET BETWEEN
EDGEWOOD TERRACE AND LANGSTON STREET AND BETWEEN
LANGSTON STREET AND DANNER STREET AND FROM DANNER
STREET TO A POINT TWELVE FEET WEST OF THE WEST
RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF AMANDA AVENUE BE VACATED,
ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION
OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID
LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS :
SECTION 1.
That Burns Street as hereinafter described be and the
same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently' vacated as
a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character what-
ever, save and except that easements are retained for utility
and drainage facilities :
BURNS STREET: Between Edgewood Terrace and
Langston Street, a length of
350 feet;
Between Langston Street and
Danner Street, a length of
350 feet; and
From Danner Street to a point
12 feet west of the west right-
of-way line of Amanda Avenue,
a length of 338 feet.
SECTION 2 .
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to
the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to
the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

The City Manager's Office, with consent of all abutting property owners,has
requested that the City vacate Burns Street between Edgewood Terrace and
Amanda Avenue as shown on the attached map.
Subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is unimproved. If this re-
quest is granted, the vacated right-of-way will be utilized for additional
yard area.
Burns Street serves no useful traffic or access functions at the present time.
Its existing 30 foot right-of-way width is not sufficient even for a minor
residential street which requires a 50 foot width.
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and
have no objections provided easements are retained for utility and drainage
facilities.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of
an ordinance vacating the public rights-of-way as requested.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject rights-of-way
as recommended by the City Plan Commission. a
