FOR SERVICES RELATED TO BRIDGE DEFICIENCIES RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute an engineering services contract with Paragon Project Resources, Inc. for engineering services related to bridge deficiencies identified by City staff and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) bridge inspections, with hourly costs and reimbursable costs not to exceed $80,000. DISCUSSION: City staff and TxDOT perform regular inspections of bridges within Fort Worth. This contract will provide engineering services needed in preparing plans for correcting deficiencies identified during the inspection process. Paragon Project Resources, Inc., although the sole firm to respond to the City's Request for Qualifications, is very well qualified to perform these services. The contract is extendable for a second and third year based upon satisfactory performance. M/WBE - Paragon Project Resources, Inc. is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 15% M/WBE participation. The City's goal on this project is 15%. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current capital budgets, as appropriated, of the Contract Street Maintenance Fund and the General Fund.
