Dear Mr. Domenech:
This letter is written in response to your request for additional engineering design and special
services for the above referenced project. The additional design services are as described
below. A detailed breakdown of the proposed fees for these additional services is also
attached.
Our proposed engineering fee for the additional work includes the following:

typical measurement call-outs from existing surface features.
2. Prepare an Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost for the water service
transfer.
3. Attend one (1) City of Fort Worth coordination meeting.
Please note that the proposed fee does not include the following work items:
✓ Acquisition of additional topographical survey data,
✓ Preparation of easements or property descriptions,
✓ Submission of anytype of electronic file, except as specifically indicated,
✓ Preparation of permits for various local, state, or federal authorities,
✓ Environmental documents or wetland determinations,
✓ Geotechnical studies or subsurface investigations,
✓ Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan,
✓ Additional meetings, site visits, or reviews, except as specifically indicated,
✓ Construction layout surveying, or
✓ Other items not specifically identified within this document.

Mayor and Council Communication
COUNCIL ACTION: Approved on 11/1/2005
DATE: Tuesday, November 01, 2005
LOG NAME: 30BRYSON8 REFERENCE NO.: **C-21119
SUBJECT:
Authorize Execution of Amendment No. 8 to Engineering Agreement with LopezGarcia Group for
Water and Sanitary Sewer Extension for-the Bryson Tract Area (Annexation A-00-23)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 8 to City
Secretary Contract No. 26994 with LopezGarcia Group, formerly Wendy Lopez and Associates, Inc., in the
amount of$1,615.25 for additional design, thereby increasing the contract amount to $138,458.61.
DISCUSSION:
On August 9, 2001, (M&C C-18701) the City Council authorized an engineering agreement with Wendy
Lopez and Associates, Inc. (now LopezGarcia Group) in the amount of $67,830.00 for the design of Water
and Sanitary Sewer Extension for the Bryson Tract Area (Annexation A-00-23).
The project consists of the preparation of plans and specifications for the extension of City water and
sanitary sewer mains to serve an annexed area south of Bailey-Boswell Road and west of Old Decatur
Road.
The agreement was subsequently revised by seven previous amendments in the amount of $69,013.36 as
follows:
. Amendment No. 1 (City Secretary No. 27541) in the amount of $8,077.00 and administratively
approved by the City Manager on March 12, 2002, provided for the change in the alignment of the
project sewer main.
. Amendment No. 2 (City Secretary No. 27921) in the amount of $17,172.05 and administratively
approved by the City Manager on August 20, 2002, provided for the design of additional water and
sanitary sewer lines to provide service to new residents within the annexed area.
. Amendment No. 3 (City Secretary No. 28316) in the amount of $14,305.55 and administratively
approved by the City Manager on January 15, 2003, provided for the redesign of a project sewer
main to provide additional capacity to accommodate a proposed development located west of this
project.
. Amendment No. 4 (City Secretary No. 29043) in the amount of $6,748.88 and administratively
approved by the City Manager on September 3, 2003, provided for the preparation of a storm water
pollution prevention plan and additional easements on the project.
. Amendment No. 5 (City Secretary No. 29489) in the amount of $2,831.70 and administratively
approved by the City Manager on February 2, 2004, provided for revisions to the contract documents

to accommodate the most recent city specifications.
. Amendment No. 6 (City Secretary No. 30417) in the amount of $15,554.08 and administratively
approved by the City Manager on August 26, 2004, provided for the preparation of a traffic control
plan for the project and the design of additional water and sanitary sewer mains.
. Amendment No. 7 (City Secretary No. 31173) in the amount of $4,324.10 and administratively
approved by the City Manager on January 13, 2005, provided for the preparation of plans to allow for
the reroute of seven residential sanitary sewer service lines from a City of Saginaw sewer main into
the new Fort Worth sewer main.
This agreement may be administratively amended up to an additional $25,000.00.
This amendment will allow for the preparation of drawings for the reroute of the water service line for Bryson
Elementary School from a City of Saginaw water main, to the recently completed City of Fort Worth water
main located on Bryson Lane. Prior to Annexation A-00-23, Bryson Elementary School was located in the
county and was provided water service by the City of Saginaw water main located on Old Decatur Road.
LopezGarcia Group proposes to provide the necessary additional engineering services for a lump sum fee
of$1,615.25. Staff considers this amount to be fair and reasonable.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2, Mapsco 33P.
