AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
SCOTT LANE, AN UNNAMED STREET RESERVATION AND AN
UNNAMED RIGHT OF WAY EASEMENT, SITUATED IN THE
RIVERCREST ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS; AS RECORDED IN THE PLAT
RECORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS AND CONTAINING
APPROXIMATELY RESPECTIVELY 0.058, 0.306 AND 0.143 ACRES OF
LAND MORE OR LESS; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN
SAID LAND; PROVIDING THAT THE CITY SHALL RETAIN ALL
EXISTING UTILITIES EASEMENTS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That a portion of Scott Lane situated in the Rivercrest Addition, an addition to the City of
Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas;as recorded in Volume 12106, Page 1600 of the Deed
Records of Tarrant County, Texas and as recorded in Volume 310, Page 92, Volume 388-X, Page
21 and Volume 388-9, Page 495 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and containing
approximately 0.058 acre of land more or less, and as more specifically described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That an unnamed street reservation situated in the Rivercrest Addition, an addition to the
City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas as recorded in Volume 12106., Page 1600 of the Deed

Records of Tarrant County, Texas and as recorded in Volume 310, Page 192, Volume 388-X, Page
21 and Volume 388-9, Page 495 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas; and containing
approximately 0.306 acre of land more or less, and as more specifically described in Exhibit "B"
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 3.
That an unnamed right-of-way easement situated in the Rivercrest Addition, an addition
to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas as recorded in Volume 12106, Page 1600 of the
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas and as recorded in Volume 310, Page 92, Volume 388-
X, Page 21 and Volume 388-9, Page 495 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas; and
containing approximately 0.143 acre of land more or less, and as more specifically described in
Exhibit "C" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 4.
That the easements to the land in the above-described vacated street right of way is
hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 5.
All existing utility easements be shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located in that easement are relocated at the owner's expense.

SECTION 6.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt the attached ordinance vacating a portion of Scott Lane, an unnamed street reservation and an
unnamed easement right-of-way, to be replatted with the adjoining property, for a new residential
subdivision, Rivercrest Addition for James R. Harris Partners; and
2. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City Policy.
DISCUSSION:
Pape-Dawson Engineers, on behalf of James R. Harris Partners, has requested the vacation of this
portion of Scott Lane, an unnamed street reservation and an unnamed easement right-of-way, to be
replatted with the adjoining property, for a new residential subdivision, Rivercrest Addition. The City Plan
Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting on June 25, 2014. An acceptable final
plat (FP-014-038) has been received in accordance with the Subdivision Ordinance.
The City of Fort Worth (City) originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting
process. The City does not own any fee interest in the right-of-way or own any property adjacent to the
right-of-way and did not expend any City funds to purchase the right-of-way easements. In accordance
with the City's Policy Regarding Street and Alley Vacation Transactions approved by the City Council on
March 6, 2007 (M&C G-15624), Staff recommends waiving the fair market value or any portion thereof of
purchase price of the right-of-way easements for the streets and alley.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7, Mapsco 61W.

The Financial Management Services Director certifies that approval of these recommendations will have
no material effect on City funds.
