AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING AN ALLEY,
SITUATED IN THE PETER T. WELCH SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 1643,
LOCATED IN BLOCK 1, ALFORD & VEAL'S ADDITION, AN
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY,
TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME F, PAGE 308 OF THE OFFICIAL
PUBLIC RECORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR
REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; THE RETAINMENT OF
EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That a twenty foot wide alley, situated the Peter T. Welch Survey, Abstract No. 1643,
located in Block 1 Alford & Veal's Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant
County, Texas as recorded in Volume F, Page 308 of the Official Public Records of Tarrant
County, Texas, and containing approximately 6,025 square feet or 0.138 of an acre of land more
or less, and as more specifically described in Exhibits "A" and "B" attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands in the above-described vacated alleys and streets are hereby
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located in the easements are relocated at the owner's expense.

SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

BEING 0.138 acre tract of land situated in the Peter T. Welch Survey, Abstract Number 1643,
located in the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, being all of the 20' Alley in Block 1,
Alford & Veal's Addition, recorded in Volume F, Page 308 of the Official Public Records,
Tarrant County, Texas, (OPRTCT), said 0.138 acre tract being more particularly described as
follows:
BEGINNING at a metal fence corner post at the intersection of the south right—of—way line
of Stella Street (60' width) with the west right—of—way line of said 20' Alley, from which a
found cut X' in concrete at the northwest corner of said Block 1, bears South 89 degrees
19 minutes 38 seconds West, a distance of 155.79 feet;
THENCE North 89 degrees 19 minutes 38 seconds East, a distance of 20.00 feet to a point
for corner at the intersection of the south right—of—way line of said Stella Street with the
east right—of—way line of said 20' Alley, from which a found metal fence corner at the
northeast corner of said Block 1, bears North 89 degrees 19 minutes 38 seconds East, a
distance of 155.79 feet;
THENCE South 01 degrees 06 minutes 53 seconds East, with the east right—of—way line of
said 20' Alley, a distance of 301.24 feet to a found pk nail at the intersection of the north
right—of—way line of Tucker Street (60' width) with the east right—of—way line of said 20'
Alley, from which a found cut "Y" in concrete at the southeast corner of said Block 1, bears
North 89 degrees 19 minutes 38 seconds East, a distance of 155.79 feet;
THENCE South 89 degrees 19 minutes 38 seconds West, a distance of 20 feet to a found pk
nail at the intersection of the north right—of—way of said Tucker Street with the west
right—of—way line of said 20' Alley, from which a found pk nail at the southwest corner of
said Block 1 bears, South 89 degrees 19 minutes 38 seconds West, a distance of 155.79
feet;
THENCE North 01 degrees 06 minutes 53 seconds West, with the west right—of—way line of
said 20' Alley, a distance of 301.24 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 0.138 of

Adopt Ordinance Vacating an Alley in Block 1, Alford and Veals Addition Between Tucker Street and Stella
Street to be Replatted with the Adjoining Property (COUNCIL DISTRICT 8)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt the attached ordinance vacating an alley in block 1, Alford and Veals Addition between Tucker
Street and Stella Street to be replatted with the adjoining property; and
2. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City Policy.
DISCUSSION:
Pape-Dawson Engineers, on behalf of Doug Renfro, has requested the vacation of this alley in Block 1,
Alford and Veals Addition Between Tucker Street and Stella Street, to be replatted with the adjoining
property. The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting on August 27,
2014. An acceptable final plat(FS-014-181) has been received in accordance with the Subdivision
Ordinance.
The City of Fort Worth (City) originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting
process. The City does not own any fee interest in the right-of-way or own any property adjacent to the
right-of-way and did not expend any City funds to purchase the right-of-way easements. In accordance
with the City's Policy Regarding Street and Alley Vacation Transactions approved by the City Council on
March 6, 2007 (M&C G-15624), Staff recommends waiving the fair market value or any portion thereof of
purchase price of the right-of-way easements for the streets and alley.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8, Mapsco 77F.

no material effect on City funds.
