AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION
OF THROCKMORTON STREET RIGHT OF WAY BETWEEN WEST
11'~ STREET AND WEST 12~ STREET LOCATED ADJACENT TO
LOT 1, SECTION 7R, FORT WORTH CONVENTION CENTER
ADDITION AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TA,RRANT COUNTY TEXAS AS RECORDED IN CABINET A,
SLIDE 11331 OF THE PLAT RECORDS OF TA,RR.ANT COUNTY
TEXAS, BEING APPROXIMATELY 1 FOOT WIDE AND 200 FEET
LONG AND CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 0.4 ACRE OF LAND;
PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1.
That a portion of Throckmorton Street right of way between West 1 l~' Street and West 12~'
Street, located adjacent to Lot 1 Section 7R, Fort Worth Convention Center Addition, an
addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas as recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 11331
of the Plat Records of Tarrant County Texas, being approximately 1 foot wide and 200 feet
long and containing 0 4 acre of land more or less, and as more specifically described in Exhibit
A and `B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, be and the same is vacated
and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above-described street is released and shall revert to the
adjacent owner as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

FIELD NOTES DESCRIBING A PORTION OF THROCKMORTON STREET BETWEEN
W 11th STREET AND W 12th STREET TO BE ABANDONED
Being a 0004 acre tract of land situated in the J Childress Survey Abstract No. 250 City of Fort
Worth, Tarrant County Texas, and being a portion of Throckmorton Street, said 0004 acre tract
of land being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows
BEGINNING at an `X" in concrete found for the intersection of the existing northeast right-of way line
of Throckmorton Street (a 60.0' right-of way) with the southeast right-of--way line of W 11th Street (a
60.0' right-of way), said `X" in concrete being the west corner of Lot 1 Section 7R of Fort Worth
Convention Center Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas, as recorded in
Cabinet A, Slide 11331 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County Texas;
THENCE South 29 degrees 59 minutes 30 seconds East, with the existing northeast right-of-way
line of said Throclcmorton Street and with the southwest line of Lot ]. Section 7R of said
Fart Worth Convention Center Addition, a distance of 200.00 feet to an `X" in concrete
found for the intersection of the existing northeast right-of way line of said
T'hrockinorton Street with the southeast right-of-way line of W 12th Street (a 60.0'
right-of way), said `X" in concrete being the south corner of Lot 1 Section 7R of said
Fart Worth Convention Center Addition,
THENCE South 60 degrees 00 rrlinutes 30 seconds West, with the proposed northwest right-of-way
line of said W 12th Street, a distance of 1 00 foot to an `X" in concrete set for the
intersection of the northwest right-of way line of said W 12th Street with the proposed
northeast right-of way line of said Throckmorton Street;
THENCE North 29 degrees 59 minutes 30 seconds West, with the proposed northeast right-of way
line of said Throckxriarton Street, a distance of 200 00 feet to a `X" in concrete set for
the intersection of the proposed northeast right-of way line of said Throckmorton Street
with the southeast right-of way line of said W 11th Street;
THENCE North 60 degrees 00 minutes 30 seconds East, with the proposed southeast right-of-way
line of said W 11th Street, a distance of 1.00 foot to the POINT OF BEGINNING and
containing 200 square feet or 0004 acres of land, more or less

1 Adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of Throckmorton Street right-of-way between West 11th street and
West 12th Street, being approximately 1 feet wide by 200 feet long consisting of 0 004 acre of land in the
Fort Worth Convention Center Addition located in the City of Fort Worth as filed in Cabinet A, Slide 11331
of the Plat Records of Tarrant County Texas and
2. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City policy (M&C G-15624)
DISCUSSION
The City of Fort Worth requests to vacate the above referenced right-of-way and to replat and incorporate it
within the adjoining property to accommodate an architectural building element on the new Fort Worth
Convention Center Parking Garage The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its
meeting on February 28 2007 An acceptable replat (FS-007-048) has been received
The City of Fort Worth originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting process.
The City owns land adjacent to the above referenced right-of-way Since no City funds have been expended
to purchase property or easement rights and the City will continue to own the property adjacent to the right
of-way after it is vacated collection of the fee value or any portion thereof is recommended by staff to 'be
waived
This request is in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9
