(No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT $ WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Wade & Associates, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 22266, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-15708 on the 15th day of October, 1996; and subsequently revised by one previous amendment; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering contract for the design of Sanitary Sewer Main C1C4B Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Study and Improvements (Group 6, Contract 2) . WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximuI fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated April 17, 20001 a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $14, 902.49. 2 . Article III, Section D of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $1,208,855.56. This document constitutes the second formal contract amendment under the aforementioned agreement. Specifically, we are seeking the approval of the following additional work items in this amendment as described below: Contract Reference: Attachment A-6 to the Contract, Phase VI—Design Services: Pipeline Rehabilitation • The Incorporation of numerous City directed revisions to Supplemental Section C and Sections D and DA addressing, various Technical and Leg,aUAdministrative issues into the Contract Documents for Part 8, Units 1 & 2, Part 11, Units 1. 2, & 3, and Part 13. Units 1. & 2. Under the above referenced contract element. WADE was asked to incorporate numerous specification changes that required edits to the project plan/profile sheets (CAD edits) and the re-plotting of those plan sheets, and the selected revision of the contract documents/specifications prior to the advertisement of the projects. This also includes only the recovery of costs associated with issuing 1, 3. & I addenda, respectively related only to the above-referenced contract document changes. Please note that the Addenda for Part 11 and Part 12 also included substantive costs associated with several new sewer line designs requested by the Citv. These costs are discussed in the next amendment item listed below. The table below reflects the staff hours and miscellaneous costs associated with this work item. WADE conducted dye tests for 4 properties associated with Line C. WADE also prepared 6 ROE instruments for the sanitary sewer service re-routes. Additionally. WADE designed a 241 LF extension of L-435R (called Line A) along Magnolia and 5" Street in order to eliminate an illegal commercial sanitary sewer service that extends through public ROW. Another ROE instrument was developed for this project location, The information below also includes staff time directly associated with the design and issuance of these lines by Addenda. The table below also reflects the recovery of survey costs associated with these new sewer line designs. The survey costs shown below include a 10% administrative fee. Amendment Item Total Fee Requested The Incorporation of numerous City directed revisions S 7.166.58 to Supplemental Section C and Sections D and DA addressing various Technical and Legal/Administrative issues into the Contract Documents for Part 8, Units 1 & 2. Part 11, Units 1. 2. & 3. and Part 12, Units 1. & 2: Design Impacts Resulting from the Replacement of L- S 7,735.91 514R with Line C in Part 11, Unit 3 and the addition of Line A into Part 12, Unit 1 into the Construction Documents: TOTAL AMENDMENT REQUEST: $ 14,902.49 Therefore, we are requesting Contract Amendment No. 2 in the amount of $ 14,902.49 to the M-C1C413 Agreement. This amendment would increase the total contract amount from S1,193,953.07 to S1,208.855.56. representing an increase of one and one quarter percent (1.25%a). PS46-070460410230 The proposed amendment will reimburse Wade & Associates, Inc. for the additional de- sign, survey services they provided on the project as requested by the City. The Water Department requested that design be provided for an additional 500 feet of severely deteriorated sewer pipe and included in Parts 11 and 12 of the project. In addi- tion, in order to comply with current City criteria, the consultant had to make numerous revisions to the contract documents for the Parts 8, 11 and 12 projects. Wade & Associates, Inc., has requested reimbursement in the amount of$14,902.49 for the additional design services, thereby increasing the contract fee from $1,193,953.07 to $1,208,855.56. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for additional design services. Please authorize the additional fee by your signatures on the attached contract amend- ment form.
