AMENDMENT No. 2 C TR►CT
TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 42810
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Kimley-Horn and
Associates, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 42810, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C No. C-
25378 on the 10th day of January, 2012 in the amount of $ 90, 000 . 00; and
WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the
following project:
Design Services for 2011 Intersection Capacity Improvements at Three
(3) Intersections; and
WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by: Amendment Number
1 in the amount of $10, 175 which was administratively authorized on March
19, 2013; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to the
CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee.
NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their
duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement,
which amends the CONTRACT:
1.
Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional
engineering services specified in a proposal dated February 9, 2015, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to
City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer
totals $3, 178 . 00 .

c Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in
fi the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under
the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all

work and services shall be an amount of $103,353. 00.

All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly
amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect .

2011 Intersection Capacity Improvements
Dear Mrs. Acevedo:
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. ("Kimley-Horn") is pleased to submit this Amendment No. 2 to the
City of Fort Worth ("City")to provide additional services to revise pavement marking, signing, and traffic
signal plans for the intersection of Randol Mill Road and Handley Ederville Road.
Scope of Services
Kimley-Horn will provide the services specifically set forth below.
Task 1— Traffic Counts
The project intersections include:
• IH-820 EB/WB Frontage Roads at Randol Mill Road; and
• Handley Ederville Road/Bridgeview Drive at Randol Mill Road.
The following activities apply for each intersection noted above:
1.1. Data Collection
1.1.1. 24-hour machine counts—The ENGINEER will conduct one 24-hour directional
machine count for eastbound Randol Mill Road, located between IH-820 and
Handley Ederville Road. The data will be recorded in 15-minute increments.
1.1.2. Peak hour turning movement counts— Peak hour turning movement counts will be
collected at each intersection for up to three (3) time periods. Time periods will
include 2 hour counting increments for the Weekday AM, Noon, and PM peak
periods.
ASSUMPTIONS
• Traffic count exhibits will not be prepared for this task.

Task 2— Intersection Improvement Plans
2.1 The ENGINEER will revise the existing signing and striping plans for Handley Ederville Road at
Randol Mill Road. The following changes will be made:
2.1.1 Revise southbound striping to provide wider northbound departure lanes to better
accommodate trucks turning right onto Handley Ederville Road.
2.1.2 Re-stripe the westbound approach to the following lane configurations: left-only,
through-only, and right-only.
2.1.3 Add lane use and warning signs as required by the TxMUTCD for the westbound
approach to provide guidance to drivers that the outside through lane is now a right-
turn only lane.
2.2 The ENGINEER will revise the existing traffic signal plans for Handley Ederville Road at Randol
Mill Road. The following changes will be made:
2.2.1 Replace the existing 3-section signal head closest to the signal pole for the
westbound approach to a 5-section signal head to allow for a right-turn overlap.
ASSUMPTIONS
• No additional signal cable will be needed to be installed between the signal controller and
terminal panel at the base of the signal pole on the northwest corner. New signal cable will
be run from the terminal panel to the proposed 5-section signal head.
DELIVERABLES
A. Preliminary signing, striping, and signal sheets.
B. Final signing, striping, and signal sheets.
Additional Services
Any services not specifically provided for in the above scope will be billed as additional services and
performed at our then current hourly rates.
Schedule
We will provide our services in a mutually agreed upon schedule following Notice to Proceed from the
City.
Fee and Expenses
Kimley-Horn will perform the services in Tasks 1 and 2 for the total lump sum fee of $3,178.00. All
permitting, application, and similar project fees will be paid directly by the Client.
