(No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 22821, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-16053 on the 20th day of July 1997; WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Engineering contract for the design of M-390 Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Evaluation and Improvements (Group 6, Contract 1) , Part 2 and Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation in the M-36SR (Group 5, Contract 2) , Part 4, Drainage Area. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to said Contract to include specialized design work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the Contract: 1 . Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated the 17th day of February 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $4,130 .00 2 . Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $369,737 . 60. DOE DATE: May 2, 2000 RE: DESIGN FEE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO M390 DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 6, CONTRACT 1), PART 2 AND SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION IN THE M-36SR, (GROUP 5; CONTRACT 2); PART 4 DRAINAGE AREA, DOE 1646, SEWER PROJECT NO. PS46-070460410260 The proposed amendment will allow Dannenbaum Engineering Corp., to provide additional services to the project as requested by the City. It has been determined that it is necessary to design a Junction Box where a standard manhole had originally been planned. During the course of construction it was found that the line to which this project connected to on the downstream end had been upsized from 48" to 60". In order to provide proper access for maintenance purposes, it was necessary to install a junction box. Dannenbaum Engineering Corp., has submitted a fee in the amount of $4,130.00 for the additional design work thereby increasing the contract fee from $365,607.60 to $369,737.60. 1 believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional services that are to be provided. It is recommend that the request be approved. Please authorize additional fee by your signatures on the attached contract amendment form.
