AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE GENERAL CAPITAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $37,483.20, FROM STATE
REIMBURSEMENT FUNDS, FOR THE FURNISHING OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL
EQUIPMENT TO TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THREE
INTERSECTIONS: SH 170 (ALLIANCE GATEWAY) AT OLD DENTON ROAD, SH 114 AT
FM 156, AND IH 20 AT BRYANT IRVIN ROAD; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
General Capital Fund in the amount of $37,483.20, from state reimbursement funds, for the furnishing of
traffic signal equipment to Texas Department of Transportation for three intersections: SH 170 (Alliance
Gateway) at Old Denton Road, SH 114 at FM 156, and IH 20 at Bryant Irvin Road.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way
impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining
provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 21457-09-2014 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of
said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

SUBJECT:
Adopt Resolution in Support of and Authorize Execution of Agreements with the Texas Department of
Transportation to Furnish Traffic Signal Equipment for Three Intersections Located on State Rights-of-Way
Within the Fort Worth City Limits and Accept Reimbursement for the Traffic Signal Equipment from the
Texas Department of Transportation in the Amount of $37,483.20 (COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3, 6 and 7)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt a resolution supporting the furnishing and reimbursement for traffic signal equipment for three
Texas Department of Transportation intersections located on State rights-of-way within the Fort Worth city
limits;
2. Authorize execution of Agreements between The Texas Department of Transportation and the City of
Fort Worth to receive reimbursement for traffic signal equipment for three intersections located on State
rights-of-way within the Fort Worth city limits at a cost to the State of$37,483.20; and
3. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
General Capital Fund in the amount of$37,483.20.
DISCUSSION:
The State owns and maintains a system of highways and roadways located within the boundaries of the
City of Fort Worth. Three intersections have been approved for traffic signal construction by the Texas
Transportation Commission at the following locations:

As part of an ongoing and cooperative effort between the City and the Texas Department of
Transportation (TxDOT), the City will provide the traffic signal equipment, and in turn, TxDOT will
reimburse the City for the equipment costs. This action insures that the traffic signal equipment is
compatible with standard signal operations and existing City equipment.

TxDOT will manage and pay for all construction.
After construction is completed, the City will maintain these traffic signals as part of a Maintenance
Agreement (M&C C-25951) that was approved by City Council on November 6, 2012.
Intersections are located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3, 6 and 7, Mapsco 88M, 7Z and 642Q.
FISCAL INFORMATION /CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations,
funds will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated of the General Capital Fund. The
Transportation and Public Works Department will be responsible for the collection and deposit of funds
that are due to the City.
