An Ordinance amending Sections 2, 3 and 5 of Ordinance
No.67 passed by the Board of Comr.!icsioners, Tune 16th,1908 ,
and repealing Ordinance No.83 pasced. by the Board of
Commissioners, Feb. 2nd, 1009, Said Ordinances regta.lating
the use of automobiles upon the streets and thoroughfares
of the City of Fort Worth and repealing all other Ordinances
and parts of ordinances in conflict %herewith.
BE IT ORDAINFD BY THE BOARD OF COMr1ISSIONFRS OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH,TFYAS.
Section 1 . That Sections 2, 3 and 5 of Ordinance b?o. 67
passed by the Board of Commissioners of said City, June 16,1908 ,
being an Ordinance regulating the use of automobiles upon the
Streets and thoroughfares of the City of Fort worth, be and
the same are hereby amended so as to .read as follows:
Sec. 2.- The owners or persons in charge of all. automobiles,
motorcycles and other motor vehicles in the City of Fort Worth
shall register each such vehicle with the City Secretary of
said City and procure from said City Secretary a certificate
thereof, which said certificate shall state that the owner
or person in charge thereof, giving his name, has registered
said vehicle, giving a gen91'ral description thereof) and that a
number has been given same, which number shah. be certified
in the face of the certificate. The City Secretary shall
keep a register in which he shall note the name of the ov^Tners
or persons in charge of such vehiclesregistered, together with
a general description of such vehicles together with their
numbers, and he shall, in no event give. the same number to any
two or more of said vehicles, but they nhall be numbered in
the order of their registeration. The owners car person in
charge of any such vehicle shall after registeration as
aforesaid cause to be painted., placed or affixed on to such i
vehicle and on the back of such vehieleN , if be an

automobile, in- a conspicious place its number as certified in
the certificate of . registeration in figures not less than
six inches in height and proportinately broad, In case any
such vehicle which has been registered as aforesaid shall be
sold, the purchaser thereof shall obtain a new certificate
of registeration or request said City Secreta-ry to endorse
the change of ownership on the certificate of registeration, in
which latter event the City Secretary shall so endorse said
certificate of registeration and shall note the fact of said
transfer in his book required herein to be kept and such
certificate so endorsed shall be held valid as the original
certificate.
1' Sec. 3. -• It shall hereafter be unlawful forerson or

.persons to drive, propel% or use or cause to be driven,
i propelled or used in,- along, or across any public street,
alley, square or other public place in the City of Fort Worth
any vehicle` of the kund knovrn and styled as an autmobile ,
or any motorcycle or other motor vehicle/.unless said
vehicle shall have been provided with a number 'as provided for
in the preceeding Sections and eflsuch vehicles known as
automobiles shall be provided with at least two lamps which
shall be lighted betmreen the hours of thirty minutes after
sunset and thirty minutes before sunrise and which shall be
of such character, size and strength as to be plainly
�ivible for one -fourth (µ) .Rile in front of such vehicle and
all such automobiles shall be provided with a good and
sufficient gong or horn capable of giving such warning as can
be heard for a distance of 600 feet . _--
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to run,
drive or direct or permit the running or driving of any
such automobile, motorcycle or motor vehicle in, upon, along
or across any public. square., street, alley or other public place
within the limits of - the City of Fort Worth . �.t a greater rate of

speed than dighteen (18) miles-. per hour; provided that upon
the following streets and -portions of st-reets within said
City no such vehicle shall be run or driven at a greater rate
of speed than ten -(10) miles . per hour, to-wit:
Commerce.Main, Houston and Throckmorton Streets 'from
Belknap Street on the North to the North line of the Texas &
Pacific Railroad Company ' s Reservation on the South and all
Streets ,running Fast and West aoross the streets above
mentioned from -Commerce to Throckmorton Streets between
Belknacp- Street on the North and th'e Texas & Pac if is Railroad
Company' s Reservation on the South; also Jennings Avenue
from its intersection with Houston Street to Broadway Street
and South Main Street from the North side of the 'Texas & -
Pacific Railroad Company' s Reservation to Broadway Street and

Front Street from Houston Street to South Boaz Street , also
north Main Street from 'twelfth Street to TwentNteth Street and
North Main Street from Twenty-Fourth Street to Twenty-Fifth
Street.
Sec. 5. Any person or persons violating any of the above
provisions set forth or any of the other provisions of .said
Ordinance No; '67 or failing to comply with all of said
provisions shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction shall be punished by fine not less than`,,Five ($5m0u)
I Dollars or not more than One Hundred (8100.00) , Dollars.
Section 2. That Sections 2, 3 and 5 of said Ordinance
No.67 as heretofore tn\force`4 and all of said Ordinance`.No.83
and all other Ordinances or parts .of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed., provided that all of said
Ordinance No.67 except said Sections 2, 3 and 5 shall remain
in full force and effect.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from -and after its passage and publication as
required by law,
