AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THAT PORTION OF DAGGETT AVENUE
EXT-,LADING FROM THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF LOT K, INDIAN HILL
VILLAGE, TO THE 'VEST BOUNDARY LINE OF ELEVENTH AVENUE, A
DISTANCE OF FIVE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE FEET FROM EAST TO
WEST, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND WITH RESERVATION OF EASE-
MENT FOR UTILITIES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
WHEREAS, although that portion of Daggett Avenue extending from the
east boundary line of Lot K. Indian Hill Village, to the crest boundary line
of Eleventh Avenue, a distance of five hundred and thirty-five (535) feet
from east to west, appears on a recorded plat as a public thoroughfare, it
has, in fact, never been used by the public as a public thoroughfare or street;
and,
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the public that this apparent
cloud to the title to this property be removed and that this thoroughfare
be permanently closed and abandoned to public use; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1,
That the following described portion of Daggett Avenue be and the
same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or pub-
lic thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever:
Daggett Avenue, from the east boundary line of Lot K, Indian
Hill Village, to the west boundary line of Eleventh Avenue,
a distance of five hundred and thirty-five (535) feet from
east to west.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land is hereby released and will revert to the
adjacent owners as provided by law, save and except that an easement is re-
served for public utilities.
SECTION 3,
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4a
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage.
